Depends on the client contracts. Most will cover the services to be delivered rather than the skills of the services being delivered. When the client contract comes up for renewal then if the service hasn't met client expectations due to the lack of skilled staff it opens the door for competitors to displace DXC. How many major contracts have been lost or reduced in scope over the last year? Given most contracts are on 3 or 5 year terms, multiply the number by say 4 as an average to understand the loss of business likely to occur if the policies don't change

DXC can save millions by getting read of Mike Laurie, its about time to make him redundant or right source his role to a lower cost country.

Sure it is legal. When I was outsourced out of Aon in December of 2005, CSC (name change) fired 140 of us to replace with kids whose past positions included delivery of pizza. True qualified individuals to support a professional network.

Ethical is another problem and as a good practice for client retention it s---s.

Of course it is legal - DXC has good lawyers to ensure that they stay just the right side of the law.

In the UK it is the role that is made redundant and not the person, and a company cannot make someone redundant and then employ someone else to the same role as, technically, the role should no longer exist. This is easy to circumvent by changing the job very slightly. It is legal to make someone redundant if their role is moving to another location too.
