When he does his 12 jobs for 40 bucks job I will then have 12 more jobs to do following behind him...contractors help us keep jobs.

The reductions are not over... we are going to continue to lose employees by the dozens each week around the company. 5 years from now this company will look and feel completely different from what it is today. Unfortunately the business model must change in order to survive. The industry continues to see and feel more pressure to evolve and adapt. Technology and the younger consumers are driving these pressures and changes. We either transform and change or die a fast. I don’t totally trust or agree with everything I’m seeing and hearing but we’re locked into survival mode now. I just wish it wasn’t so painful on so many of my co workers or their families. If there is a bright side to any of this is that they’re some pretty cool companies working on projects that are cutting edge 5G driven products. Smart homes, small cell and incredible WIFI interactive devices and concepts being developed. Most of these companies pay better and have incredible benefits. Where one door closes on a dinosaur another opens to a better and brighter future. I’m looking to exit this painful place soon... after 24 years. Good luck and best wishes.

Sounds like they are about done...from what I hear they seem pretty happy with the current tech/workload ratio. Saw they brought on 25-30 new employees (not contractors) this week (various locations), so some groups are growing. Great sign!
