Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Be sure to use your vacation time

When the awe hits, and it will, there is no compensation for unused vacation. Take care of your family and get out of the grind. You will regret being walked all over if you don’t.

I resigned from the company in August of 2017 and had 6 weeks of vacation that was alloted. The previous poster was correct, you typically accrue it on a quarterly basis. When I left, I had all unused vacation paid to me based on what I had earned. Had I been able to stay until Oct 2nd of that year, I would have received all earned vacation time. Unless something has changed, which it may have, that was what I received.

They can do anything if they think they can save a penny

You accrue vacation quarterly, at least last I checked. If you have 6 weeks vacation, you accrue 1 week every 2 months.

If you leave or are shown the door July 1, then you get 3 weeks and Xerox is legally obligated to pay (minus what you've taken already.)

Hello, just to add to the other poster. i am not an expert on this. I am not sure how it works for purchased vacation, but when I was let go, I lost 3 weeks. It might have something to do with how you leave.

Are you sure? I thought all unused vacation time was included in any termination - voluntary or otherwise. Maybe I'm wrong. Let's hear what other's know about this because I have 5 weeks - one which I paid for.
