News articles are saying automation is one of the key reasons for job cuts. They are trying to push automation but tell us that it’s not to reduce headcount, wondering if we will be next!

Their automation is a mess (level3). Atleast what I have seen, as a switch tech. Numbers are always missing and the assignments incorrect. They have a history of launching these systems without real trials. Getting systems fixed is a joke. We get told that the old systems are going away. Yeah that was 6 years ago and still there with no updates.
Our boss came to us asking what could be automated as well, not a good sign for us humans... If this trend continues, there will be no customers to buy their products b/c no one will have a job to pay for them. Super slippery slope sadly... <- alliteration at its finest folks.
Yes, if your job can be automated, it will be!
I think they're referring to Centurylink Go. In my humble opinion, Go is bad for sales agents, but shouldn't cut down much on field. From a consumer standpoint Go isn't a half bad idea.
But they're supposed to only be adding it to new buildings/communities, it would take a long time for it to grow.
Based off what I heard.
Don't worry. I read an article yesterday about a new robot barista that can make 300 perfect cups of coffee an hour. When the inventor asked if it would replace humans, he replied that humans still had to pour the coffee beans into the hopper.
