Come on SS&C don’t be a bunch of pansy asses and start laying off the aquired Dst people. We the people are so burnt out especially those of us who have been here for ever and we can’t say that we won’t intentionally do something to screw something up. Mr. stone let the layoffs begin.

60% margins are what most successful software companies maintain. 40% is a start so it means they will cut more people.
All of of this doesn’t matter to ss&c management. You either make their number of else. Given the amount of debt dst has it will take over two years to reorganize. Layoffs are just the small part of it. Teams that are small be need to be put with bigger teams. Facilities and IT depts will need to consolidate. If they don’t get to a leaner workforce, they will sell Chunks of the business units they don’t want for $$. Sell off the real estate holdings, cut benefits, cut expenses, etc. they be taken on so much debt they will be very aggressive about dst cash in 2019. They will honor the existing agreements for the first year. But the second year, lol out as every is on the table to be cut. Imagine a dept that had 100 cut down to 30. Given dst structure it will take some time to reorganize. The first year is just a grace period.
Unfortunately, SS&C wants DST for it cash. Debt and spending is what SS&C will focus on. Cut, cut, cut, & then cut some more. It will be a two year process and they will begin laying off people quarterly if the cuts don't take take place fast enough to make the numbers.
Oh my. You are so misinformed. You expect to know without having worked with us year in and year out with all the continual overtime, quick project deadlines, etc. A positive and caring attitude would do well on you.
As a DST employee, I can assure you that everyone I know in Kansas City works very hard, more than 9 hour days, and provides a service that is more than the software usage. If that service is no longer provided to the clients, the clients will definitely look for new providers of the software AND service. Messing this up to reach a 40% margin won’t work beyond a year after reaching that margin. You can’t bring in $$ by driving away your customers.

yeah, hopefully they let go of some SS&C people that have bad job attitudes and low morale.

DST worker's work very hard and care about doing the job right the first time. Unlike your comment about intentionally screwing your job up. Not wise in this day and age.
Of course some abuse . Most just dont give a sh!# anymore. For the last 3 years upper management has given no information on where this company is going. They gave no reason to care and nothing to work towards. Most of those leaders are still here leeching off the company. Take comfort in knowing your chances are the same for being layed off good worker or bad.
The fact is, most people at DST do nothing all day and breeze in after 9am and leave well before 5pm and take an extended lunch.
SS&C will figure it out soon enough.
