Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Hub Strategy for Corp and Common functions

I am hearing there is a HUB strategy this year and HON will force some USA people to relocate to Atlanta, Morris Plains, or other key hubs or you loose your job. The word in the hallway is due to the spin offs they can get away with over $500 million restructuring writeoffs. This $500m was mentioned in the Investors call which is posted on Honeywell.com under Investors presentations or events

I know they have told all SPS Customer Service Reps (at least in Smithfield RI) they are laid off by end of June because all their jobs are going to hub SLP Mexico

Are any others hearing or being told they have to relocate to "a Hub location"??

Three of the four Horsemen of stupidity (or incompetence...you pick) are based out of Tempe...NOT a Hub...the fourth is based on the west coast...not a hub.

Do we think this brain trust will move?

Another big IT powwow in Morris Plains next week and they just had one a month or so ago. Clearly the cuts and improvements were not enough so time to get the leaders to cut more workers

And that new contract with Capgemini goes into effect June 1 so I bet the few remaining Honeywell employees in that space will get severance notices before end of June

Yes this is really happening. SPS Marcom was first group to publicly announce and over 100 impacted. Corporate IT should be soon.. Unclear how or when Corporate Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain will participate

Hubs probably included all low cost area, SLP Mexico, Bangalore, Czech Republic and China

And only USA locations will be Atlanta or Morris Plains. Which means all of VP Luciano Bs Direct reports except one or two will need to move. and VP Travis G will need to move and many Direct reports. Hard to believe HON would spend that kind of money unless they believe 90% will take the RIF package

The Hub locations are Morris Plains, Atlanta or your SBG HQ ( Fort Mill if you are SPS for example)

ARIZONA WAS NEVER A HUB LOCATION.

I have been told one of the 4 horsemen of stupidity (TG, LB, MP other TG) are telling people it is in the hopes it becomes one because that's where that idiot is based.

Based on what they are doing to SPS Marcom in another post this is probably the massive IT ReOrg to change with Spinoffs. Basically even if you were a top performer but in the wrong locations your career with HON is over by end of 2018

Maybe some will get relocation packages but likely you will be told move by did/mm or you have effectively quit or if they are nice (are they ever nice?) you get a severance package once you train your replacement.

Look at the job postings. They list Morris plains as an office but not Tempe. I think they are looking at eliminating Tempe as a hub.

The "local package" in Bangalore doesn't sound so great. Cost of living adjustment & so forth

what will happen to the IT CORP snr leadership located outside of the US? There are a number of directors in EMEA located in non hub locations - but in high cost countries.

I heard all IT VPs and Directors in Corp IT in USA will need to relocate to Atlanta, Morris Plains or Tempe this year. Notifications will start in April. No word if Engineering under Krishna will need to do the same. No word if other Corporate functions will do the same

No word if there is a moving package or not, or the consequences of declining

It began in January, and I know of a few employees who refused to move and then left the company. Corporate staff in states other than NJ and GA.

And moving expenses are no longer tax deductible.

Yes, They have spoken about this for a long time but they are now actually moving forward with it. They are telling people their jobs are moving to Atlanta, Morris Plains or their SBG HQ and they have the option to move or lose their jobs. No moving expenses covered of course.

This will obviously result in losing talent who would not want to move to one of those places but will also limit hiring new talent who would not want to move to one of those places.

So we expect to hire talent from Apple, Google or Microsoft. Pay them crap, give them s1tt1est benefits available, no WFH and tell them they have to move from Seattle or silicon valley to Atlanta or NJ...makes perfect sense.

And we wonder why we are flooded with "talent" that took the job because they are US based and are half retarded and cant go anywhere else or are from India and consider access to a toilet is considered a benefit.
