Don't know what area you are sewing jobs posted in, but no jobs at all posted or being filled in our area. Everyone here is just holding their breath waitong to see if there is an L3 tech waiting to take their job.

I guess one would have a 1 in 5 odds of getting cut based on the ratio of employees between the two companies.
If odds are 1:5, it means that if there are 6 possible outcomes, then 1 of those 6 would have the event happen, and the other 5 will not. Odds are the ratio between the probability of the occurence of an event to the probability that the event does not occur. If odds are H, then p = H/(1 + H) and H = p/(1-p). In this case the odds are 1:5, or 1/5, equal to (1/5)/(1 + 1/5) = 1/6 = 16.67%.
