People are mentioning May 4 (I'm trying really hard not to throw in a Star Wars reference since this is a serious matter) as the next layoff date. Some are even claiming they know they are on the list for this day.
Is this true? How can you even find out if you are on the list? Any info would be great.
We here in the US are lucky if we can even reach a live HR or Payroll rep. Well, as long as we work for DXC/Perspecta, anyway. Anyone with half a brain & an ounce of self-respect is looking for greener pastures, for sure! Or at least a pasture that's not 100% COW PIES.

30+ years in IT is enough and not want to take a bunch of boring CBT classes and have to take a stupid test to get a CERT.
All a CERT means is your a good test taker, people with CERT's coming to me to ask questions all the time. It's not about taking a test for facts you will never need to remember. It's knowing a piece of software or hardware and know what to do when things go wrong.
Where to lookup it up, how to gather information , and yes even use support that the company pays for if we use it or not.

LOL - No we do not. The US is typically very employer friendly, unless you're part of a union - which basically does not exist for the IT industry here.
Ask your manager? "i've heard my name is on the WFR list for May 4th" and see how they react
