Retiree health care was cut ~15-20 years ago (and max company contribution limits added several years before that), so anyone retiring before the cut would still have coverage. The article appears to be about non-exempt Union employees losing their benefits due to changes in their Union collective bargaining agreements. Looks like the union members voted to allow retiree benefits to be cut by not including a guarantee for their continuation in recent agreements. Exempt and non-union retirees (which are by far the the majority I would assume) are probably not affected.
I thought health care for retirees was cut years ago? Maybe it was for Allied-Signal retirees.
