Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Con call 4/25

The NE stores had to listen to a mediocre presentation today by an obviously scattered RC. Valore is being tested for used book ordering in the fall. Will this be worth the effort?

(Presenting, followed by English grammar, is not one of RC's strong suits. It was also amusing to hear WH touting the benefits of the program. The SM and I were rolling our eyes.)

Pintos were notorious for bursting in to flames.

The problem here is that anything WH and his team produces is touted to be a Ferrari however functions like a Ford Pinto.

Every institutional store on Earth is using marketplace buying. Follett is insanely late to this idea.

I don't know how this will go, given that it's Follett. I've always felt we should be buying books directly from the marketplace. If a student can get it on Amazon for $2, why shouldn't we? Of course, since it's Follett, I'm sure it'll be a disaster.
