No wonder this company has issues .... the negativity and drama is endless!

In reading the comments on here, it seems most of the complainers still work there (clearly they didn't clean house well enough).... did you ever think that perhaps you and your behaviour are the problem? Negative nellies ..... If you can speak of a company this way on a social platform it is impossible to think that you don't let it infest and interfere with your work. If you aren't happy, move on rather than dragging everyone else into your woeful rabbit hole by causing drama. I'd be interested to hear if the grass really is greener elsewhere .....

Don't worry too much about Trump. He talks big and then negotiates to get a fair agreement. Good President. Heck, maybe the Canadian gov't will share their carbon tax proceeds to make up for it. Stupid tax, no such thing as global warming.

No, Keystone XL, the one that had the leak in November. Not the new one being proposed. News reports indicate the original has not come to full line pressure yet. Running something like 80% of pressure.

Weren't those building lease commitments prior to the new CEO?

CNRL not as profitable because of the widening spread, right? What else would explain it? Bet that's why they cut back. They seemed to indicate that on their earnings call. Oil sands inventory glut certainly reduces profitability.

CNRL cuts back supply for a good reason, probably because it's not as profitable as first thought. And Keystone is a long term commitment not just a short term one provided CVE even has capital to make a long term commitment just like their efficient use of capital by leasing two buildings Bow and Brookfield. Talk about looking at the big business picture. Everything seems positive until Trump puts a tariff on our heavily "discounted" WCS.

Hedging commenter.........are you accounting for the other side of the hedge? If you are saying they made a mistake hedging, then you fail to account that the purpose is locking in cash flow. That's how hedging works. Now the one thing that changed industrywide, which nobody anticipated, is the WCS spread when the pipeline issue arose late 2017. The widening can be seen on the futures exchange for WCS Select. Good news is favorable articles that the industry seems to be moving to rail and Canadian Natural commented they are pulling back on supply. Seems Keystone XL will eventually get back to full pressure as they get past understanding the issues of late 2017. These things always look darkest at the bottom.

Another good thing is the lack of Venezuelan oil and Mexico seems to be pulling back as well. Those heavy oils are needed for the most efficient runs on the Gulf. That will only help oil sands as they fill the gap.

People love hedging when prices of the commodity go down, hate it when prices go up. Typical of the Monday-Morning-Quarterbacks like the comment made.

Shareholders need negative nellies to leave the company....and fast!

Employees are funny. Seen it at past employers that cut folks. They only see things through their sheltered, little world versus looking at the business big picture. Even worse when it comes to millennials because of their sheltered, me, me world. Usually when ya hear everything is crap, that's a good sign it isn't!

I can also attest it is a lot better elsewhere. Had some savings so I resigned. Instantly felt happier despite being jobless. A couple months went by where I was able to reset my mentality and then back to work. Compensation might not be as great but at least work has become meaningful again and the culture is happy where everyone pitches in to help and work together for a common goal. Opinions are respected and individuals are empowered.

There are jobs out there but just need to tone down expectations on compensation.

Yes, the grass is very much greener for your information. And it's doubtful that SS just happened to employ a load of negative nellies. I experienced first hand the woeful treatment of employees who had given their entire careers to SS, and their payback? - out the door in 24 hours without so much as a thank you card. What they do employ (or create) however, are management who don't know how to manage - too busy making sure no one can see their own inabilities. How people are treated and managed directly affects their behaviour, so no doubt whatsoever where the blame lies.
