Correct, they don’t owe us anything, but have some respect for us and our intelligence. We know what’s coming because each market has a club that is already transitioning the new changes. We also follow everything that has happened in the past year at Walmart. Our GM acts like a total twit when we ask a question, like she’s never heard of any of the changes that have happened. So give us a heads up so we can try and find other employment to take care of our families. There really isn’t any position to move to and they are canning managers, but on your way out of the club is a big sign that reads positions available come start your career today....priceless.

If this company keeps crapping on their employees, the members at Sam's will stop shopping there. As far as Walmart goes, I have never been a Walmart shopper and never will. I know one thing, I am done paying 100.00 a year for the Plus membership...I also will cancel my Sam's M/C. I did all of this to support my club during the push to get numbers. Sam's and Walmart will never be able to compete w/Amazon. The "FEW" Walton's are Billionaires: In my opinion they are selfish, not like others who give....They do not care about us...Maybe their Dad did....Good luck to all.

The central finding of this report is simple: Our analysis of 23 years’ worth of the Walton Family Foundation’s tax returns shows that Rob, Jim, Alice and Christy Walton—the second generation Walmart heirs—have contributed almost none of their personal fortune to the foundation which bears their family name.

Specifically:

  • Rob and Alice Walton made zero individual contributions to the Foundation during the 23 years we examined;

  • Jim Walton made a single personal contribution of $3 million to the Walton Family Foundation, more than 15 years ago;

  • Rob, Jim, and Alice Walton and the family holding company they control (Walton Enterprises) have been responsible for only .13% of all contributions to the Walton Family Foundation ($6.4 million);

  • Among the second generation Walton heirs, it is the in-law, Christy, who has been responsible for the largest share of contributions to the Foundation;

  • The four Walmart heirs and Walton Enterprises combined have been responsible for only 1.2% of all contributions to the Walton Family Foundation.

The combined lifetime contributions of the second generation Walmart heirs and their family holding company to the Walton Family Foundation come to $58.49 million, or:

■■ About .04% of the Waltons’ net worth of $139.9 billion;

■■ About .34% of the estimated $17.1 Billion in Walmart dividends that Rob, Jim, Alice and Christy received during the years we analyzed;

■■ Less than one week’s worth of the Walmart dividends the Waltons will receive this year;

■■ Less than the estimated value of Rob Walton’s collection of vintage sports cars.

Wow, it’s Doug McMillan everyone.....they don’t owe you anything, you’re right. But they owe the American economy something, especially since they got such the huge tax break from the Federal government just recently. This is how they repay for the huge break they just got? I hope they put huge tariffs on everything they bring over from China.

When your hired for a job they don’t tell you this is a guarantee for the rest of your life instead they expect you to do what they pay you to do and if you do a great job maybe have a chance to advance. But there are no guarantees that any company will be around forever, economy structure, supply in demand consistently change in how consumers shop. If companies change to meet that demand they will be around or may not, in todays economy people are looking for faster and more convenient ways to shop without hassle and without dealing with employees with bad customer service and of course cheaper prices. Companies will always restructure and leverage there losses to stay in business if they don’t then your out of business. Companies are trying to be competitive and profitable and unfortunately most people don’t understand this process. They don’t take pleasure in cutting there work force down and yes sometimes it leads to bad publicity but in the end it is going to happen in every company. All you can do is always keep your resume up to date, network yourself and keep a great work record and when and if that time comes you will be on top of things and viable for another company to take you on. People bashing and trash talking shows the level of person they are and what their future holds for them.

Thats a great way to display empathy and understanding that most of the outrage is the way the company goes about handling decisions. While im in leadership but not suffering through this cut/change of roles it has been demonstrated several times over this is our company's new method of handling these decisions (same way demi dept was shut down, same way the team lead codes were eliminated previously). The method seems contradictory to "core value" respect for individual and makes it kind of difficilt to focus on "exceeding expectations" with all the uneasiness. No matter how much any mgr or lead umderstands the business reasoning and necessity for change, it has be a netter way to handle the announcements and processes.

You must be from home office to write a statement like that.

That’s the attitude and problem with Sam’s club , everyone in leadership feels like u . You are a number, they will use and abuse you and when u crack they throw you away. That attitude does not attract talent, it doesn’t increase retention. All it does is increase turnover ,develop anger and lower customer service ... people that hate their jobs In turn take it out on the customer..
