Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Internal position

How many people have actually gotten an internal position? I haven't heard of a single person yet.

I just got an offer. Nurse and not a protected class. I hope all of you find roles too, but positivity makes a big difference. Some people on here are having a very hard time and need support not more negative self talk. Yes it took a while for me to find a job, but most of us got RIFed at the same time so there were lots of us applying to the same roles. So yeah it will make it harder to get placed given so many options for them to choose from among us. This seems like common sense but some just seem determined to hate not only humana but on all of us too in the process

If you really want to work with Humana, keep applying. It is a no brainer that there will be more openings as those that are left with HAH 2.0 madness start to leave. That is why no more layoffs this year, more than likely.

This has been the most horrible experience in my life. I’m so mad at Humana

RIF Candidates should be placed before even posting a job externally, plain and simple. We shouldn't have to compete with people not impacted by this lay off for a job when we have done nothing wrong to lose ours. Other companies do this and it works well for them, employee satisfaction is high and they have less costs related to training because they do not have to acclimate someone to the company.

Below poster, part of the problem is that there are up to 700 internal and how many external candidates for each job, so it may be coming down to what you just said, the desireables, and maybe with the candidate pool so high, there are many who have all the desireables?

I am so depressed over this whole process. I just want to cry. I can't even get an interview for an internal position! I've done everything my recruiter has told me to do and she just tells me that I'm applying for jobs I don't meet the criteria for. I make sure I meet all of the role requirements, but then she comes back and tells me that they (the recruiters) were told to look for other role requirements. I have applied for dozens and dozens of positions, I meet all of the requirements and most of the desirables. I have done all of the right management stuff recommended. I don't know what else I can do. I have to work, I am a single mother. I don't have savings and I live in such a rural area, there are simply not nursing jobs here. Humana doesn't act like they actually want to keep us internal.

I don’t want one. Glad for those who are finding them and want them, but I’m not interested in staying.

RXs9hIs-xdk that's awesome! Can I ask if you are a nurse or PHC?

Happy for you that you found another position. No harsh words here. Congrats!

I was able to obtain another position but didn't want to say anything. Some people here are just so mean, and others well, I just didn't want to make them feel bad that I'd finally found a position and they may not have been as lucky yet. I went through several of the montage interviews also, applied for many positions all together. It just took quite a while to finally get an offer. If you truly want to stay my advice is to just try to stay positive and keep applying. Best of luck to everyone!

I've had a montage interview. No information following up on it at all. I know others who have had montage interviews, but that's it. I don't know anyone who has been offered anything internally.

I have applied to literally 30 positions that I am qualified for and have not gotten 1 interview. They say RIFd employees take precedence but that's not true. How does the hiring manager even know we have been RIFd

i had a first interview and took a long weekend to come back to an email to respond the day I was off.. even though my reply email stated i was off and when i would return... when i reached out the day i got back the response was "oh sorry all applicants have gotten offers on who responded"

yeah... i call bs

Yep, I have applied over & over again. I might get a preliminary interview (robo-questions) but no official interview. I've had several "thanks, but no thanks" e-mails from HR. Oh, well! This door might be closing but I have faith there will be a window on my horizon.

I think these internal positions are few and far between. Most likely smoke and mirrors to appear like they care to retain into another department.
