Did the sh-- hit the fan this fall sales-wise, and are we going to be feeling the fallout this March. The stores are wondering.

The thrust of the change will be to promote some store managers into area managers and (i’m really guessing here) to downgrade some stores so that they no longer merit an SM. Existing mgrs could either be let go or could assume the new role. I think specifics are still being decided.
So, is the plan to demote or let go store managers, then hire area managers? Or demote store managers to operational manager, demote rm's to area managers?
does this mean that some current RM's territories will be expanded. and that because of that, they will have new area managers working under them
Probably so, yes. Realignments and some Area Groups will be a part of all Groups.
Will any stores in G8 be affected?
I heard it from a couple sources who have shared reliable information in the past.
Interesting concept, where did you hear this from?
Sales off, no big surprise. There have been targeted dismissals across the enterprise. Groups/Regions are getting shuffled in the next few weeks. Some smaller stores in larger markets are soon going to have an Operations Manager who reports to an Area Manager who reports to the Regional Manager. It won't be a sweeping change but will affect dozens of stores/managers. Just what I'm hearing.
Actually it's pretty easy to get the gist of the OP: did sales tank even more, and are folks getting laid off.
Please, I hope you didn't leave a job writing headlines for the National Enquirer to work for follett! That topic is vague enough for anyone to read into to it what they want to read into it.
Yes, sales are in the toilet. No change from the previous 4 years. Down again.
