Honeywell has lost an ageism lawsuit in the past. I wonder what constitutes it? I know of several who got RIFd yesterday and they were all over 50-
??
If you were let go recently and are over 50 please comment here and let us know?

When you are RIF'ed they send the breakdown of people let go as part of the severance package. It has approx age and job title.
If you are being RIFd you can ask HR for the breakdown of roles and ages of those impacted. HON lawyers and HR are very good about getting to acceptable number that would stand up in court
But start with asking for the summary statistics. One of my employees years ago shared the list with me. And while I would love to see HON taken to the cleaners you probably wouldn't win and would get more by accepting severance than declining and trying to sue. Best of luck with whatever you do. I expect my RIF to be by June 30
Forgot to add yes I’m over 50. 30 year stellar career. Now what? I’m about 7 years from retirement and Medicare with no health insurance. Kind of s---s
Just FYI. My reviews were all good. No complaints. I am getting MIP on Mar 9.
I also just got laid off. This week. You can’t fight outsourcing. It doesn’t mean you’re too old or not performing your job to standard. It just means they have found a cheap replacement for you. Don’t read anything else into it.
You are unlikely to prevail in an age discrimination suit. The company has already phonied up your reviews to make you look like an absolute slug. You would still need an OK from the EEOC, which is unlikely. That would probably tip your hand so you'd still get RIF'd but would be unlikely to ever work as a contractor doing HON work. You can't win. That's life in the big sh--ty, er city.
Being over 50 years old doesn't mean you're guaranteed a job. There are and have been tons of people RIF'd from Honeywell at all ages. It is just another example of the same thing that happens with other special interest groups (blacks, women, etc). Someone gets canned and they immediately declare ageism, or s-xism, or racism when there is zero evidence.
I'm certain I'm not the only person that reads/posts here with personal experience of Honeywell purposely NOT firing poor performing employees because of the chance they could be accused of agesim and/or racism (I saw instances of both, personally).
