I also recently bought a house. Had to since we moved out of state. I am a newer employee and had no idea the company eas in this shape. Hadnt heard of this site till this layoff.
I have to agree about NOT making any major purchases over the last year. I tightened my budget in early 2017 and have been saving ever since. I wrote a letter to all family members letting them know that I would not be giving gifts for Christmas, except for my immediate family. I took a Staycation last year also. Sorry for one income families and those with outstanding debt but last year was the beginning of the end for many of us.
I'm a CHE and was not let go as early as the PHCs. S--- it up! With all the instability of HAH this past year, why would you purchase a house on one income? Why would anyone make such a large investment right now knowing we have quarterly layoffs, even with 2 incomes. As the old saying goes. Penny wise pound foolish. I certainly would not be buying a house, a car or going on a big vacation until things were stable or I had a new job.
Hate you bought a house without knowing about the layoffs. We were going to last year but thankfully coworker told me about this site and we decided not to move. Thank you layoff.com. Best of luck to you!

Carry on. #tiredofwhinning
First of all this isnt whinning. And you guys that were already let go got let go sooner so shut it! Ever hear of freedom of speech? Scroll along! I come here to vent and talk with those currently being laid off. Why are you guys even on this site anyways you are no longer employees and have not been for some time so go away. I have 3 small children and just bought a new house a fee months ago off of MY INCOME. IM GONNA complain cause others got out sooner and I need that extra time to ensure that I find a new job asap! I get minimum severance and will be taking a huge pay cut going to bedside so I need to get on it like yesterday.
Yes I’m rif’d as well and Humana doesn’t owe us anything so stop the whining we are all in the same boat. Work until your end day or quit simple as that.
@RQWb2ne-1teu. I was RIFd in November. So, yes, I have been there and can still say quit your damn whinning! I wasn't released right away but didn't b--ch and moan either! Please name one other company that will give you the boot and pay you for work not done ON TOP OF severance? Self entitled much?
Being let out earlier gives you lots of time to realize that you are not wanted, to know that you are no longer on a team and to know there are people still working who don't want to be there and shouldn't be there based on performance and quality. I am not enjoying it at all.
If they pay out PTO the government taxes at 45%. Better to take your time
@RQWb2ne-iiq - Obviously you still have a job, with your attitude of telling others not to whine.
Being axed and having to look for new employment is serious business and a full-time job in itself.
Must be nice for your to not have to fret over how you are going to feed & clothe your children, and pay other essential bills.
Not everyone is blessed as you.
No, we associates who were impacted in the November RIF worked three weeks before early release, at least the PHCs did. We were notified on 11/1 and the last work day was 11/22, the day before Thanksgiving. So sorry you folks have to work four weeks before early release. It is very hard to focus on the job with all that stress. Best wishes.
So when will hourly take effect? Our coach couldn’t tell us today, said they are still working out some bugs.
You always have the option to leave.
@RQWb2ne-iiq are you whining about people whining by telling them not to whine?
What are you talking about, “people look down on HAH?” What people? The voices in your head?
But yeah, it is what it is and all we can do is work with dignity until we are released.
Please quit whinning! I don't know if any other job that would let you go early when laid off and still pay you! Be thankful for what you get and quit your damn complaining. Wonder why people look down on HAH...hmmmm
OP, just try to schedule your interviews as early or as late as possible, or just use the PTO, it’s worth spending it, if the payoff is a new job
We can complain but it won’t result in anything. We just have to power through this.
Regardless of what you call it people in November did not get it but they only worked 2 weeks.. it is what it is 🤷🏽♀️.. be grateful you got lump sum raise
I thought everyone could use a laugh, I was look on a job board and came across this under a Humana job :We’re looking for associates who are dedicated to service and believe in following the Golden Rule of treating others the way you want to be treated. Humana was founded on this premise, and this value is reflected in our expectations for providing perfect service to our consumers, providers, employers, agents and others we work with.
Definitely not a bonus. Them retaining us is nothing but torture.
What is bonus you speak of? Oh, you mean the lump sum raise? People continue to call it a bonus and it's got me all sorts of confused.
I think it has something to do with new management. I don't think the bonus has anything to do with them retaining us.
They totally did things differently to the November group. Sure they only worked 2 weeks but they did not receive that “bonus” either..
They could care less about FAIR. They want the HCM RN to tie all their members up real nice for the other HCM before they let us go....seriously...2 more weeks of torture. Not to mention this BS of hourly...they are looking for anyway to write us up and fire us so can't get severance....
