It’s horrible that people lost their jobs today. I know lots of them were good employees and gave a lot to this company. Loyalty is not a word that should exist in corporate America. I feel for every one of you. I was laid off in my 1st job before PepsiCo and I know how much it hurts. My thoughts are with you all. But please don’t let this bring you down. There’s a time to reflect and feel sad and everyone has their own time they need to deal with that, but, you weren’t hired at PepsiCo unless you have high potential. The fact you have PepsiCo on your resume will be an advantage when you are applying for new opportunities. Use your experience as an advantage!
I was fortunate enough to survive for now.
It comes down to frontline execution. All the great ideas, strategies, plans,etc... nothing happens unless it’s done by the frontline. Day in and day out. That’s why I get the bonus payments to them. There’s lots of turnover on the frontline. Until that gets fixed, and accountability and alignment with the decision makers in the field on execution gets fixed it won’t change anytime soon.
