Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

as if this makes any difference

can anybody here honestly say they can relax now that it's supposedly over? is there anybody who actually still trusts humana? who thinks that we are safe once again?

this is just a temporary reprieve and i think for once we all know it. no bonuses are going to change that.

This is the 5th Rif in just around 14 months. After each RIF there was an air of renewal and rebuilding and within a very short period of time another RIF. I wouldn't want to say the program is folding but I would suggest that you look at whats happened and how persistent that trend has been. Anyone remaining on the Humana At Home program needs to make plans, understand their financial situation and act accordingly. Any future RIF will get severance and the 60 day notice but along with that goes stress and uncertainty.

I have looked for WAH jobs and found many companies that do offer these roles, they may not have vacancies now but over the next few months they could. Don't be complacent. Make planning for a future RIF part of your work week, make whatever plans you can to control spending but most of all, take control. I was impacted today but I do feel more in control and under less stress than some posters appear to be. Good luck.

I'm sure more layoffs will occur this year. Seems to happen 2-3x's/year.

I can’t say I’ve ever loved working for Humana or anywhere else. I have met ppl that are wonderful, and s/w members that are truly awe inspiring though while with Humana. I don’t trust Humana, but I appreciate they are a business and I’m a cog in the wheel. I was not in this lay off, but who knows about the future. I’ll stay for the time being, and if what others have predicted comes true ( more micromanagement with hourly status) I’ll leave. I’ll keep my resume up to date and ready to send.

I don't trust Humana one bit at this point and have such a low opinion of a company that I used to love. Before I dreaded a possible layoffs announcement and now I'm praying that I'm part of the next one. And before everyone goes psycho on me about leaving when I want to, it's very difficult to find a job with equal pay. And I do have a family to support

Humana please offer another early retirement. A lot of us who qualify would gladly accept it this time around. We are a wiser now.

He bonuses to me were a bit like the Social Security giving people a raise and then Medicare cost goes up. Taxed at 40%?! It was great to receive the money and did anyone notice that the Government got a nice amount of it? It is about like giving earned income credit to those who do not make a lot of money. Give it to me, I would invest that into a rental. Not much of an economy booster. Give it to others and you see new TV’s, cars, cell phones. Etc. It is a game. Just figure out how you want to play it. ❤️

They are going to use the ones that are left to finish out these members and then we will be gone too. No it’s not stable. No it’s not secure and no it’s not healthy. But if you didn’t get laid off this round, it’s a personal choice- leave on your own or wait for the next round. No sense in sitting and worrying. It will for sure happen so just work while you can or get out now. It’s not going to get less stressful.

At this point it is to our benefit to believe another round of lay off is coming. Until proven otherwise. Humana cannot be trusted, this is a sinking ship. I am sad I didn’t get an email and wiuld gladly trade with any one that wanted to or had to remain. Actively looking for a healthier and more stable work environment. This s---s

Rumor another round of layoffs in April. I guess depends also on how many people quit between now and then. I know I’m exhausted 😩
