Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Why do some WAH employees get away with having their young children at home with them even when coaches knew?

When I was hired a few years ago, I was told upon hire I would need to arrange child care just as I would if I was working outside the home. My coach reiterated that and expressed how unprofessional it would be if my child was heard crying or calling for me in the background. I don't know how many team meetings I have sat through over the course of 4 years and have heard my teammates' children yelling and screaming in the background. I have paid for childcare inside and outside my home for 4 years with my 2 kids. My office door remains shut for privacy and noise control if they are home with a sitter. It infuriates me that I have teammates who have said they just keep their kids home with them and question why I do not. These are the same kids who yell and scream during every meeting. My first coach would not have put up with it due to it being unprofessional. My current coach laughs. Has this WAH policy changed? I know the point may be mute soon, but I'm curious when this became acceptable.

As you continue to give it light. Just like replying to all saying don't reply to all.

Why are we giving this post life during a time like this. We were all giving the same policies when we started. Everyone should come to work to work. Coaches shouldn’t have favorites. The list goes on and on. Many great workers were let go during previous rounds while slackers remained. We all know it’s not right. Why point fingers at this point it doesn’t matter if you are on the list I’m sorry and I wish you bigger and better things and if you stay I hope things start looking up. Don’t let what someone else do cause you stress working for this company over the past year should be enough. Best wishes to all. We all deserve better

By the way, it’s moot, not mute, but those kids should be muted 🤭

It is indeed a violation of the WAH agreement and if there are non Humana associates heard in the background, its privacy concern. Its not acceptable.

Or the ones who just say they "need help" all the time now that there is no daily contact goal, just have your teammates do all your work to keep yourself in the green. ... 😒

I occasionally have older kids around the house like preteens. And I hate dogs barking in the background on meetings.

I think those people should be impacted, but I can’t get mad about it. It’s just getting mad at people that don’t follow the rules & don’t get caught, when we do what was stated in our agreement we signed. What can you do?

My coach has her baby at home with her. Guessing that’s why she’s always “busy”. That light is always red.

But your coach is not on the phone with members, which is worse!

I understand your frustration. It should be grounds for termination and has been for a few workers but depends on the coach.

Why would you care? Their numbers will slack then, not yours. Unless you are picking up their slack, I wouldn't worry about what others do. Plus, you don't have to have children to abuse the wah privilege.

Just frustrated with the difference in what coaches allow. I will also be frustrated if I get laid off when following the rules and those who don't, get to stay.

Its not and grounds for termination. When youre hired youre suppose to sign a work from home contract and it states nor caring for children adults or pets during work hours. I think some coaches are less strict.... But with layoffs coming... U should see thst change

This is a layoff site. It sounds like neglect if young children are just left to their own devices during calls, but that really isn’t a topic for this site.
