Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Monday 8th January UK DXC CR’s

It all begins tomorrow. Have a solid heads up from two people who are most definitely in the know.

Practically every single team is in scope. Managers behind the scenes have done the scoring and deadline to pass this to HR was yesterday.

HPE terms are very lucrative, f--- if they gave CSC staff 3 weeks I think every single person would hand their notice in.

CSC get only a week for each year.

I got £75k last November. I'd have got just over £12k under statutory terms.

Don't tell me Lawrie won't take the risk of being sued to make a saving like that

UK statutory redundancy is between half and one and a half weeks per year (depends on age) - these rights are gained after two years of employment. The redundancy pay is tax free up to £30,000

https://www.gov.uk/redundant-your-rights/redundancy-pay

I left HPE in March 2017 and received 3 weeks per year and was paid in lieu of notice (that part was taxed).

You all need to know what to expect - read your contracts and remember your statutory rights !

Good luck to you all.

We should all call in sick for one day, just to make some sort of point. It won’t achieve anything but this all deserves a visible reaction from the staff.

The biggest problem is that the two companies have not really merged, as the saying goes they couldnt organise a piss up in a brewery.

Only the financial books are being reported collectively. Most systems dont work if you put in a dxc email address, heck I dont think there are many systems that even accept a DXC email address.

Our payouts are/were different, there has been official reconciliation on that point either. As far as i know its £2800 flat plus a week, unless your contract states otherwise. That will be most of the CSC staff, HPE ES might be different as long as your contract states its 2 weeks or whatever you get.

On the whole the company is f---ed, do they really think that experienced people who practically run the company will accept zero payrises in a decade, whilst grads get a pay rise...? its not about what work you do, loyalty, experience are all factors in pay. If two people are doing the same job regardless of age, they should both merit a rise if their performance is the same.

They need to tread carefully if they decide to pay only Statutory Redundancy pay. Given that they have been paying enhanced packages consistently over a large number of year they could fall foul of the "custom and practice" rules in the UK.

IF they tried it many would take their cases to Industrial Tribunal...

Wow. That'd be bad. I left HPE in March 17 with just under £80k........and got a job 3 weeks later.

Sieze the day, don't get angry. Leave head held high.

If Lawrie has his way then it’s £2800 and statutory pay

CR scoring was done in November/December in the UK.

Also rumors that the enhanced payments to HPE people will revert to statutory going forward. I hope to get out myself.

1foq - I seconded that..some even can't properly pronounce words like zero too. How on earth they can be managers in cyberjaya centre?

wwj - did they misspelled their own name? Malaysian centre especially cyberjaya have those clowns as managers.

Well then, I hope the Managers at DXC are the very first to go because from what I had to put up with at CSC, were bloody idiots with their heads up their asses! Totally inept buggers that were only good enough to authorise ones TES hours every week,,,,and some of them F'cked that up!

"Who the Hell is going to be left to do the bloody work???"

In the UK probably not many people. The plan seems to be to offshore every role that it is possible to offshore.

Who the Hell is going to be left to do the bloody work??? What a bloody fiasco. Managers continue to save their own asses and fire employees who do the sodding work! Unreal....DXC will not exist in 2 years...you heard it here first. Glad I am out of it.

CR’s are not delayed, just letting people know if they got VR was delayed, many people have already been put in pools.
