Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Kindred not a done deal, good!

We know that acquisitions are perfect excuse for layoffs, so the last thing we as employees need right now is for Humana to acquire Kindred. It would not be only Kindred employees who'd pay for this acquisition, we all know this.

So here's to hoping Kindred shareholder will continue to oppose the deal, until it's completely off the table.

Yeah if the kindred deal doesn’t go through. Things certainly will go to hell in a hand basket.

Is it just me or does anyone else see a potential conflict of interest with the Hospice portion of Kindred? Seriously.... does it not seem just a little fishy that an insurance company could refer high utilization members to Hospice and then their hospice benefit takes over. How could this even be a consideration? They picked a la carte from the Kindred menu. Does anyone else smell a rat?

We will only be a 40% owner for the first three years. New programs will be developed and may open up opportunities. Someone has to coordinate and oversee those programs on the health plan side too. It’s a good thing.
