For years, nurses held liability insurance but, the general trend now is not to carry or not to disclose if you carry since most lawsuits are brought against the company that you work for (since they tend to sue the money-holders) Holding professional insurance can actually make you more vulnerable to a potential lawsuit.
do you have to have your own liability insurance as an independent contractor? The cost of this is would not be worth the benefit
Loved it! Thanks for the "heads up"!!!
Just to let you know, you may want to reconsider the private contractor side of this.... especially if you are not getting severance pay. i know people who were previously s---ed into the post layoff private contractor or agency contractor scam by humana. the promise of higher pay as a contractor never happens, your census dropped and you have given up your right to file for unemployment. but, here is the biggest question in the puzzle.... if you are NOT necessary as a full time employee, why would you be as an agency or private contractor? i wish it was that easy, but, unfortunately... big brother (or humana) strikes again. get the lube.
