Thread regarding CenturyLink layoffs

Please let me get a package for Christmas!

I finally see network planning meetings show up in my calendar and then they were pulled back immediately. (2) former tw/L3 buildings in South Denver to be closed. It's the 3rd week of January before L3 employees officially hit CenturyLink payroll. I've seen smarmy a--hole Sr. Director level and up suddenly becoming active on LinkedIn.

I believe I arrive back from Christmas vacation to a severance package...

Check the WARN act notices under each state's department of employment (worker adjustment and retraining notification). just found one for Midvale, UT. 58 workers dated 11/1/17. Does not show occupational or management worker type.

Head count reductions in progress as of 1/3/2018 a voluntary notice went out to occupational employees. With the feeling that if the company didn’t achieve their goal a forced reduction would soon follow.

A management a severance package will be initiated after the occupational reductions are achieved. Word is that this is a deep cut with a new company objective of a lean shoestring workforce, with a heavy focus on contract labor. Bottom line numbers are the only thing that matters to Jeff Story, board of directors and the stock holders. Protect the stocks dividend payout at all cost. A turn around “Story” in the making. Best wishes and happy new year to all my friends and coworkers at Centurylink.

I was let go less than 2 weeks after the merger/acquisition was finalized. My smarmy director was proactive w/downsizing to look good for his new CTL senior managers.

I am surprised to hear former TW/L3 offices in Denver eventually being closed ... simply a rumor I suppose.

I do suspect more layoffs of former GX/TW/L3 employees over the next 2 years though.
