Firstly, this oil sands vs Deep Basin mentality is bull - shake some of that bitterness off before the holidays, might do you some good. Neither side knows how the other operates (especially quality of employees) considering there has been next to zero integration between the two.

Secondly, Deep Basin hasn’t been protected as seen from the drive by layoffs we’ve seen over the past few months that I’m sure oil sands haven’t heard about. Not sure where that protected rumor came from. It was an asset acquisition, not a company takeover and therefore no protection.

Cut down on the rumors - Deep Basin is just as vulnerable as oil sands with this target 15%. Enjoy the holidays.

Yeah, it is hard to handle a job with no leadership whatsoever, constant reminders of archaic HR policies, and co-workers that hide under their desks writhing their hands.

They go for coffee cause the good COP employees got laid off in 2015-2016 and now the remaing exCOP staff at CVE can't handle their own jobs. Being isolated in Deep Basin has given them some protection. Anyone who has a friend that worked at Conoco can vouch for this.

You are so right. All they do all day is coffee. Most of them are never at their desk.

It is laughable how CVE got duped into taking part of the infamous COP HR CORP. Well known for being a dead weight, do nothing department. Outside of COP, the only other business that benefited from this is the local Starbucks franchise... that's where they spend mostnof their time.

The Deep Basin cuts are coming. This is an oil sands outfit and the Deep Basin property is a sideshow.

The COP folks are seen as the cream of the crop and they want make very little changes to their org. There will be many more CVE body bags before they start on that group.

Wonder how many ex-COP staff are now kissing up to management so they can keep their jobs.

They’re not. Several ex-COP people have been let go in last 2 weeks.
