Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Help, how to get through the next two months !!

Suggestions plz, how do I/we make through the next two months, it's a mourning period and you can't leave. Why don't they just offer those that want to go now the leverage package?

And yes you'll still be paid if you're released. You just don't have to show up to work each day. I'm sure they will require everyone to work until they get the caseloads managed and moved over etc. But again, previously in the last few layoffs - people were released early to look for work, weren't required to sign in, were paid their full salary until the last day and then the severance kicks in. They will send you notice on when to turn in your computers once all is said and done. Best of luck!

Yes. Your severance will still apply. Of course they will go over what would result in termination and no severance when you receive your paperwork.

Below poster will you be paid for the remaining 60 days plus severance or will that stop? Thank you for information.

The last 3 layoffs, people were released within 2 weeks of being laid off. More than likely, this one will follow that pattern. In the next week or so you'll get a last day date - you will keep your computer and be able to apply to other jobs within the company or focus on finding a job outside. Just hang tight!!

Did I understand them right when they said the last 2 weeks were to give us time to find new job? Will we not work after December 18th or 19th?

I was let go in Jan. It was terrible to keep working. We were given early release once our teams were moved. Keep your head high and go out in style. Know it was nothing you did. It is business and the ugly side of it. You are ready for your next purpose in life. Embrace the opportunity to a new beginning. Enjoy a few weeks for you. Enjoy the holidays with your family. You will have a check coming in. Take the time to do something you've been putting off. Go on a great vacation.

3 people RIFed in our area over the summer. They were released the day RIFed with 60 day notice, insurance AND Severance. They did not have anyone work through their notice period and they got 2 weeks severance per year of service!!! Wad a nice vacation for them!!

If the last 3 lay offs are any indication, more than likely you'll get "early release" in a couple of weeks. Still be on payroll as regular ft employees but not be required to show up for work. Good luck.

I completely agree. I do not know how I can wake up tomorrow and go to work. They should've just let us go now. Not enough calls to make anyways since the monitored program.
