Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

When is the next round of layoffs predicted?

Well I made it through this round of layoffs but sure there well be more. Any predictions on when the next round will be? Just hope that I get the bonus in January before I get laid off.

My heartaches for those who were laid off today. The newest girl on our team that I trained was. HCMRN

I heard that it’s not limited to HAH. Marketing and IT are also being cut as well.

They usually schedule layoffs after the holidays. Notice this was done Nov 1. I wouldn't expect anymore layoffs until after Jan 1.

bfp. Get a life. You sound like a person that kisses up 😈and maybe well off. Humana does owe us severance pay. Maybe you haven't worked for a company that makes billions and a CEO that makes millions. People didn't put their eggs in one basket. It is out freaking jobs. Go away

No more layoffs for 2017 but no guarantee of what 2018 will bring. That is what HCCP HCM RNs were told. By the way, the dude who said nurses were safe until the end of this year......he is already gone. Sorry for all those affected and all roles.

I was in on a town hall meeting at 3 today. WAH HAH is being restructured, their words. Do I believe them? I just don't know now. My CCL announced she is paid off by Jan 2. It was brought to the admins today that providers ( home health and MDs) are starting to refuse Humana, takes too long for auth on procedures, and Humana dies not pay well. They acted surprised and oooed and stumbled over that info. It was embarrassing. I'm gonna have to look for another job.

HAH is not finished. It has just drastically reduced its scope. It had expanded so quickly in the past and the savings attributed to the program declined. These difficult actions will end up improving the financial savings attributed to HAH.

I would suggest to get prepared. There will be additional layoffs in 2018. It is never wise to put all your eggs in one basket whether is be Humana or not. I don't understand some of the anger. This is healthcare today, no surprise to me. Humana also did not have to offer a severance packet. Most employers today, do not. I am grateful for what small monies I receive for the very short time I have been with Humana.

From what I understand it’s not a true “bonus,” but the lump sum payments they’re doing for those scheduled for raises Oct. 2017-Dec. 2018. It’s in preparation for moving to annual raises beginning 2019.

What I understand, and this is all hear-say, is that they are pushing for the automated check-ins and in-home CM to Mbrs who need CM and will disband the HAH WAH proram. When I inquired about the source's credibility, I was told "very credible".

The rumor mill was right this time around. It angers me at the lies and secrecy from management.

Rumor mill churning, and from what I've heard, Everyone at HAH will be let go by March. I hope that's not the case, but I believe that we have to protect ourselves, since I truly believe they won't give us fair warning. The stress of "not knowing" is maddening.
