Noticed on recent job postings from various temp agencies (many places I've never even heard of!), there are many new job postings for contract positions for Project Engineers for Cost Take Out work efforts, 6 to 8 month assignments. Anyone know what this is all about?? These jobs seem to be flooding the job boards. ???

No, actually it's the present.
This is the future, folks !
HPK nailed it! RIF permanent employees then replace them with disposable serfs. Remember this behavior when you see emails from leadership asking you to work extra hard and really push. They thing I push at HON are my dumps.
This is how Honeywell cuts cost(RIF and layoffs) and then backfills with disposible contractors.
