Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Severance package?

Does anybody know what kind of a severance package was offered to the people who were laid off in the past several days? I have been working for Xerox for nearly a decade and I have been mostly satisfied, but the frequency of layoffs has got me worried. If I am among those slated to be let go of in the future, I'd like to know what I can or can't count on. Amy info would be appreciated.

If you don't sign the paper work, you don't get any severance money. Simple as that!

A friend of mine was a recipient of this latest IRIF. I can't believe he worked for this company for 25 years and to have this entitlement ripped away like it was? He understands the IRIF and not bitter, but to reinvent the IRIF severance policy on 7/31, change it from 1 week of severance pay for each year of service, to "up to 8 weeks" regardless of how many years of service he has given to this company!

This goes into effect on the next day on 8/1 and 13 days later and he gets a call from his manager. Very calculated and greedy! Xerox took back what would have been 17 additional weeks pay and put it in their pocket. Absolutely ruthless....17 weeks could have really helped him get back on his feet. He told me that he never had a door hit him in the back as hard as it has. I'm glad folks are posting here...because you have no advocate or representation in this company. This is reality I will go out of my way to never use a Xerox product or business again.

Reps get 8 weeks. Managers get 12. Insurance stops last day of employment. Last year, I received a week for every year of service (over 30!). The severance package was revised July 31, 2018, So glad to be gone from this sinking ship. Severance payment is now lump sum. Quite a few management staff let go yesterday in Lewisville Texas . I’m sure IRIF’s for the reps will follow. I’m not sure these severance packages are even worth waiting for now .

I can confirm that Xerox now caps severance @12 weeks. In the screwy Xerox world they now offer 2 weeks for every year but with a maximum of 12 weeks total severance. This will not apply to some union employees but everyone else, it's 12 weeks now. The memo I saw mentioned "IRIF" so it's still possible that with a "VRIF" (voluntary reduction in force) they might offer a better package. No raises, low salaries and a pathetic severance package. Who would work at this company? I guess one can assume that some big layoffs are coming very soon.

July 31, 2018, Xerox changed the severance packages for IRIF.

Don't know about the two week notice/continuance, but sales now gets 2 weeks severance--period.

Analysts get maximum 12 weeks.

The old days are long gone.

@sph is there a cap there (e.g., 7 years max) - I've been with the company for almost 20 years.

Thanks

Agreed, the packages will always change. However the package offered on 9/18 was 2 weeks of continuance pay. Then 1 week of severance pay for each year of service.
