You are going through layoffs because the management is not competent!!! Post updates in this thread - please note: 1) Location; 2) Number Affected; 3) Positions Affected - again, this was well kept from the media and there are no official media reports on this round of layoffs. Imagine what would have happened if there was trasparency. You can help spread knowledge about this round of cuts.

There are always cuts at Xerox - every day - that's what we do the best.
Senior management has been doing small groups of layoffs fairly frequently, when they do that they do not have to file WARN notices with the states, and it's cheaper for them.
Typically they are eliminating tenured and experienced people. This helps as they are better paid. So much for 'people first'.
Xerox = layoffs; you've got to accept that.

The management way want to spend a bit of time and understand what the employee does before they lay them off - please stop being surprised about the loss in productivity once the knowledge is gone.
I was cut in June 2017 and they called me TWO times since to return - they did realize that nobody in India can do what I was doing, there was way too much tribal knowledge lost - even though everything is documented, these bozos cannot figure it out...

If you are being hired, keep in mind you are entering the world of non-stop layoffs and job re-titling.
