3vmh "Stock up while rest of market is down" What are you talking? Market is shy high. My IRA portfolio of 30+ stocks is up ~ 16% for the year.
Always check the Hon or GE stock news
It would be the is GE bought HON
Stock up while rest of market is down, very suspicious just before 3rd qtr announcement....

Aero an 'anchor'? It was the prime profit generator until DC and the rest of the management schmucks ran it into the ground. Thanks for nothing, DC, hope you are happy now.
That was ALL of Honeywell. It could be a better deal to buy/sell-off a portion (Aero). If so, the new company will not have commanding ownership on the globe. Remember, the recommendations was to sell-off Aero, not electronics, software, commercial, etc. Aero is an anchor!
GE tried to buy Honeywell in 2001. The World Trade Commission blocked the sale because the combined company would cause unfair competetion for other aerospace companies in Europe due to the size of the new company.
Boeing has cadh to spend. GE been flat lining for years and WS presuring them to change. HON trying to get rid of manufacturing and into royalty type model with less people. With economies and growth not great regulators being very aminable to mergers recently. Execs make big paydays with buyouts. Typically late cycle action. Time is right.
They can always sell pieces to individual buyers. If there is a will they will find a way to sell. So they can focus on 'trying' to be the next google or whatever software company they dream or market to become
On the GE rumors you may want to look at this article from today, highly speculative but GE is desperate for change.

Why would Boeing want to buy the avionics unit of their lowest-rated supplier, especially one they pretty much know is nothing but an empty husk, courtesy of DC and the ALT?
Any company with a brain knows how bad Honeywell Aero is.
Is there enough value left for Boeing to even be interested?
Why wait to get squeezed, just sell the avionics business to Boeing.
You are only 12 or 13 years behind the times. GE wanted to buy AlliedSignal. The Europeans shot that down, bless their hearts.
Just a rumor: but things are happening!
