Sick Days

Does anybody know if they pay out the sick days you accrue each paycheck. Obviously I know they dont pay out vacation because it is "unlimited " but since you earn sick hours every two weeks I am curious to know how they handle that.

In Australia the sick days accrue but are not paid out upon departure.

In Good 'Ol USA, no, you don't get paid sick days when you leave. You get paid for the (sick) hours you are sick as long as you are employed and have sick hours in your account. I think you can use sick hours for pregnancy as there is no paid time off for pregnancy AFAIK.

We were told (services side contract) that we only get the standard six days of PTO each year. When those are used up and you call off a seventh (or more) time you will NOT BE PAID for that day!

Sick days are accumulated each week and it rolls over year to year. How many hours of sick time you receive is based upon your years of service. You get paid for it when you take a day off sick. I'm not sure if it is the same policy across all contracts, but some will require a doctors note if you are out 3 or more sick days. You would have to ask your manager that question.

Here is a rule of thumb for any DXC HR Policy: Whatever way will screw the employees and local laws allow.

If they pay you, Mikey's benefit will be jeopardized. Since Mikey is lot more important than you, it's highly unlikely they will cut Mikey's.
