Starting a website sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen.

No thanks.

What if someone were to create a web page for all of us? Both those who were axed and for the survivors that must go back in those offices today. The air must be stifling. The empty desks. Many of them are filled with sadness and disbelief at the losses of their work family. Why a website? For those that lost their jobs: Give job leads to others, Give each other encouragement, List resources that you have found helpful, and Anything else.

I am not the IT person to do this however allowing for anonymity would be crucial. For both groups, current employees or ex-employees it could be a place to vent as needed and eventually when the shock of how we have been treated starts to subside give each other encouragement to move in a positive direction.

After all folks, we are the REAL ONE MOLINA. I know this must sound corny to many of you especially in the height of anger but we each are responsible for carrying on the mission we believed in before the company shifted from the mission to the bottom line with Project Nickels. (Am I the only one that finds Project Nickels offensive. When I got canned I was told, “I know you have heard of Project Nickels which Molina is using to create a much-improved company both financially and for our members. Unfortunately, you are one of those that we will be letting go.” What I heard was, “Once we get rid of you the company will be better off.” (Obviously I still need to vent as well.)

So, if anyone has the expertise and others agree that this would be a great website, please speak up. I believe that most of us really believed in the message that Dr. Molina and wife Mary started. What is left of the Molina today is a sad shell of a company focused only on profit.

I hope that in this spirit, we can and will continue to have each other’s backs as we did all of these years of working together, going through each other trials/tribulations and supporting each other, the never- ending birthday parties, retirement parties, potlucks (OMG the potlucks) and on and on. I would have been having one of those having a retirement parties in the near future. I will sadly miss that. I will sum up with this quote from Robert Fulghum, “When you go out into the world, watch out for traffic, hold hands, and stick together.” The REAL ONE MOLINA

Nailed it! Get the toxic leader's out of the NM office. I don't care how many they lay off until they get the bad out good wont happen. How many times can they gossip, scheme and get rid of good, high performing employees because they don't fit their liking. A lot of great employees who loved Molina and worked their tails off for the members are gone while the leaders IM, text and laugh about who stays and goes.

OP hit it right on the head. Any remaining employees are the clean up crew at this point and are no where near "safe." The company will be sold or dissolved into another insurance plan with the highest bid for their existing government contracts. If you still consider yourself safe, well....I have a fabulous bridge to sell you.

Thank you for letting me know this. You are so right. I am hoping I get laid off soon with a severance package instead of waiting to get chopped and no severance!

"Encouraging." lol my entire department got laid off and it was a department required for NCQA and state regulations. That alone should tell you the company is most likely being sold and everyone remaining is on borrowed time. I consider myself one of the lucky ones, because I got the axe but also a nice severance package. Those who remain to the end will see Aetna/Anthem/United/etc come in and clean house once the company is sold. Molina employees will be out with no compensation or even a kiss-my-peach for their time and Aetna/Anthem/United will bring in their own employees to take over. I hope no one is sitting in there thinking they are safe after this. Do your work and be there for the members, but realize that there is more than likely worse to come ahead. I could be wrong, and I hope I am, but to see entire departments being excused... there's no way the company could possibly function and meet accreditation requirements unless it doesn't care because it won't be submitting them as Molina Healthcare any longer...

Maybe this Molina layoff is a blessing in disguise for us. Keep your chin up. Maybe it will get me off my posterior to finally take a 2 month vacation and find a new job with a more stable company
