Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Next stop India

So just wait and see what is in the pipeline next it's not fake news . Don't believe that any jobs are safe at Allstate , as they ready their India call center it's up an running . Ask management and watch them deny any knowledge and tell you no it won't happen .

As I've warned before if they are talking they are lying . Management is only worried about themselves , bonuses and getting enough time and age in to retire , so they can get out of the sh-- show Allstate has become .

Moron. Yes, they’re going to run the entire claim organization from India. Moron. I expect you to check back in when “the pipeline” doesn’t materialize. You guys who have “inside information” and throw out these idiotic predictions tend to disappear.

@ditd I am very pleased that we have someone from our senior leadership participating on this forum - your input is very much appreciated and respected. We may differ in opinions but the more angles we cover the better, the more diverse our positions are the better. For that @ditd I thank you.

Yes, there are functions, primarily repetitive back office tasks, that are outsourced, some offshore. The company is 100% transparent about our outsourced and offshore activities, which is a tiny peccentage of our total employee count. We publish those activities in both our annual report as well as our web site.

Great detective work. Don't hurt yourself.

Ok genius. #1; it has always been our intent to roll out Vittual Assist to shops to complete as many supplement as possible, reducing cycle time for customers and shops by several days. Good for everyone. This is no secret, we've announced it to the repair industry, and anyone that has listened. . Thanks for the news flash.

#2; Total losses are usually at either a shop or a tow yard. Why would we ever ask the customer to to go to either to take photos so we could establish values ?? You need to think before you post.

Answer to your question "what is happening to the personal service ?" Answer; it's 2017. The world is changing . The days of adjusters driving out to look at all the losses is over. Technology. Obviously, this impacts your world and you can't accept it, but you can't stop it. And yes, every carrier with any sense is moving to a virtual strategy.

Let me post some more "Fake news " virtual assist being rolled out to help handle the back log of supplements that some say doesn't . Now the company going to ask some customers to take photos/videos of the their vehicles so values can be run , I guess this is "Fake news " . What is happening to the personal service , this company once had . B.S everyone else is doing it , which I don't believe , Because others may do this doesn't make it correct .

I have to say that some of these comments appear to come from Allstate "anonymous" management. They also have access to this website.

As good as Drive In or not, every carrier is going in this direction, and the industry (insurance and collision repair) will adjust. In 5 years, people will laugh at this debate.

Change or perish.

So you really believe the photo estimates are as good as an estimate done by a field adjuster or when a drive in claim was done ?

ATM'S have a place , you can't do all bank on just ATM's , and they actually started in the 70's .

Yes, I've seen many QFC estimates. MANY.

You sound like a bank employee in the 80's railing against ATM's. Every insurance company with any size or scale in the country is building out these type operations. It's a fact. If you're an auto adjuster you may not want to hear it, but it's a fact. There will be fewer field based auto adjuster jobs IN THE INDUSTRY, not just Allstate, so talk about how it doesn't work all you want, then go look for your friendly bank teller.

The company is adding adjusters in markets where we've had attrition, because we're always going to need some adjusters, and we're below where we need to be.

Have you seen or viewed any QFC estimates ? It has a purpose for minor damage , but to try and use it for something it isn't meant for is ridiculous . To rely on a customer to take accurate photos to write a fair doesn't work ?Iif a field adjuster wrote an estimate like some of these estimates or attached those photos to a claim file the would be pulled into the MCO and would be signing papers for all the missed damage , I understand there is always a chance of hidden damage , but quite a bit of this is very obvious damage . You can not always tell by a photo if doors are binding , or if suspension has damage by photos , so technically by many states the the vehicle is not safe or legal to operate . Some customers believe if the vehicle runs and moves it's drive able .

There will be claims done in India , not all , but there will be teams there so estimates are being done around the clock .

If supplements are being handled so quickly , why is the company looking to add adjusters and bring back people that have been laid off ?

Facts ? Data ? No ?

If you think QFC claims have no structural damage you are clueless. Supplements are being written for 2,3 or 4 times the amount of the QFC estimate including safety items. Please don't comment on thing you are absolutely clueless about.

What job are you in that you have so much knowledge on QFC estimates with missed damage ? Unless you're reinspecting cars (you're not), not sure how you'd know that. Allstate doesn't repair cars, they write estimates, so not sure where you're going with that. These are drivable cars with little or no structural damage, so the "safety inspection" is a non-issue.

I have seen the reports, and no one, anywhere in the country is "waiting a week for a supplement inspection", in fact in some places, over 50% are being done within minutes.

Facts matter. You make crap up. Move on.

Photo claims estimates that miss a lot of damage , customers driving cars that aren't safe and wouldn't pass a safety inspection , is that good for you bottom line ? Having insured and claimants wait over a week to have a field adjuster come out and correct the estimate really isn't customer service , Keep drinking the management juice and play on and believe profit and shareholder value are the 2 most important things . Maybe if you know someone in home office they will tell you the truth about what direction the company is headed .

Yes, the company hired or relocated hundreds of employees for Dallas and Charlotte because they intended to send all the work to India.

Brilliant. Good luck with your lawsuit, you'll need it.

How can some of you idols can't believe that jobs are not moving to India when it has been confirmed by leaders in our Dallas Unit. They are sending over most of the Specialist Positions to India. They already jack up our work anyway so let's keep screwing ourself up the butt. Allstate cares nothing about people just making money. I am in the process of filing an EEOC complaint due to age discrimination.

"Sh-- show" ???? Not if you're a shareholder or employee of a company that's doing everything it can to compete and reach new highs in profitability and shareholder value. As an employee/shareholder of the company I understand the need to become as efficient as we can be, and yes, that may mean there are fewer jobs in some areas.

Check in in 6 months re: your India prediction. All you genius's who throw out these predictions disappear when nothing happens. Check prior posts about "big announcements".
