I see a lot of frustration on this page and this thread, I understand and get it. I too remember the Holiday party's with nice gifts for children, the company picknics, usually Mother's Day weekend, where we rented every water park in town with hamburgers and hot dogs for everyone. I remember the fishing derby and the Cliff Garret Rodeo. And yes, those things are all gone now, most went away after the resession of 2008. But they are never coming back and most major companies are not doing them anymore either and the ones that are are slowly phasing them out. Times in the USA are changing and we can be frustrated and think about the good old days or we can adapt and move forward. You will be happier if you do. If you are not happy take control of your circumstances, get a new job, start a business, learn a new skill. If you say its too late in my carreer to change then I hope you have planned for retirement well. Make the best of what you have, but I will say most of the folks that leave Honeywell I talk to miss it dearly. Also, I see a lot of leadership bashing, if you don't like the current leadership and culture then apply for some leadership roles... Try to make a difference for the people you manage. I can tell you most of the Sr Leaders I know are working 24/7.... They barely take any vacation and when they do they are working. There is an emence amount of pressure on our leaders today and it makes me sick to read about people who say they come to work to see the company fail. At the end of the day Honeywell is still a great company to work for and has great opportunities for those willing to step up, work hard and take risks.
