There were many PHCs who were hcmss with different degrees, and were cut from hcmss because of the social work issue...I'm rooting for you all that you're kept on !!!!!

I do not believe they will only keep PHCs with a social work degree. I have it on good authority that is not the case.

If it's true that the layoff emails will come on Nov. 1, then those impacted PHCs will be gone on early release before the training begins. The upcoming training is no guarantee that we are all safe as PHCs. I still think the remaining PHCs will be those who happen to hold a SW license but do not meet the Masters level requirement to be a HCM-SS. There are a fair number of them, and I believe that is the real reason the PHC coaches were asked back in March to report how many licensed staff they had in the PHC role. JR said that was only to get an idea of the number so they could offer more CE opportunities. That's BS because I've not seen any such opportunities offered.

Trainings do not override layoffs, but it seems some PHCs are being kept, I think hcms will be taking a hit

There is a training class in mid November scheduled to teach PHC’s how to do care plans. They must be planning on keeping some PHC’s.

Humana is Medicare, for in home you need licensing or be under one. For HAH, they seem to be going for licensed, probably based on the direction they are going with complexity and education needed, hence, the layoffs of PHCs and last year of the hcmss that weren't licensed that are now health care finders

Medicare requires you are under the guidance of a licensed professional. Meaning somewhere in the command chain is a licensed person you report to

It's looking like PHCs first, CMs, due to the change in rosters, , then HCM SS., if them, since they may be evolved into the behavioral health pillar they spoke about....CHEs can't be cut back anymore....this week will be nerve wracking for sure.

Yes, Medicare requires licensure for reimbursement, not sure who told you other wise, or where you are getting your info from, and even if you don't have a license, your agency or supervisor needs to hold it

750 nurse, 220 HCMSS, 35 CHE. That's right around 1000 associates. How many PHC left right now anyone know?

I think it's safe to assume that the PHC role will be eliminated. Not saying nurses won't also be impacted, but with Medicare reimbursement being tied to licensure, why bother having unlicensed at all? Everything the PHC does can be done by a nurse and the company gets more money for it. It makes no sense in the restructuring to keep PHCs.

CHEs will be greatly impacted again. With Healthwise tasks taken away there is little work left. Couple that with a reduction in PHCs and HCMs this round and the need for their services is very low. In my opinion, they will probably only keep about 10. They began the year with well over 100 CHEs. They have been gutted. Leadership does not see any value in their work or contributions to the company.

Last poster, I'm fairly certain the point that person was making was that the HCMSS does a lot that the HCM can't do. Don't get an attitude towards someone saying that yoir role is neccesary. Geeze.

They've made us rely too heavily on HCMSS for actual member needs......poster, I'm an hcmss and while you think you were made to rely on us too heavily, I'd like to see you do,our role for a day.

I think the bulk will be CMs, the CHEs....I don't see much change in hcmss as they can pick up more of the behavioral health, and they are restricted by states they can work in bynlicense, so in cutting them, certain states would go no assistance

I doubt it. They've made us rely too heavily on HCMSS for actual member needs. And although they've given us part of CHE responsibilities, there are still several that we've never been shown how to do. Such as sending out ROI forms. I believe that those positions will still be part of the program, to what extent is harder to guess though.

So if there are 1000 hcm and ss, and the program is being cut down to a total of 850. Let's break it down like this, just assume that phc is 100% on the chopping block based on direction. Some the tasks (like healthwise mailings) have been moved to hcm but not all (roi forms, 5 wishes, .org printoffs) so we still will have some number of che's out of necessity. How many? Let's say 100 for the sake of simplifying it. So that means we would have 1100 right there, so to get down to 850 they would have to cut roughly 250 associates from the hcm and SS teams. If SS is only 220 right nkw, that doesn't leave a whole lot of room to trim them down, so what? Maybe 50 SS cut? Then 200 nurses? Plus whatever it takes to get CHE down to 100 and all of PHC.

Not saying anyone deserves to be cut. Just speculating that with current numbers/rumors that would be a reasonable expectation of where they would make those cuts
