Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Not worth working for a company (DXC) with no career

Working for DXC ives me a feeling of a daily wage worker where you can fired at any time. No point in working for such a company where there is no career growth, no salary hike and no certainty of the future.

This is especially bad for freshers, as we neither get good IT experience, not there is a promise of career growth in future.

This leads to failing projects and timelines.

meaning loss of employee confidence, loss of customer confidence, loss of revenue.

Many of the service contracts DXC has don’t fit the future vision of upper management. They are content with doing what’s minimally required with the cheapest possible labor without regard to quality, experience, or client knowledge. Most new hires coming in are short term stop gaps - DXC does not want career-minded people on the payrolls.

DXC wants to be a one-size-fits-all cloud shop with the vast majority of labor located offshore. They have no interest in providing standard IT services and solutions, which is why high profile clients and USPS are being shed.

At least once a week I receive an email exhorting me to help attract top talent to DXC by sharing things on LinkedIn.

That kinda fails my interpretation on the whole business conduct/ethics thing. Just saying.

I don't understand what the thinking is a lot of the high paid talent has left or been laid off. Many of the people left are clueless or haven't been trained and won't be trained. Everyone keeps complaining that they don't know who resources are anymore or that the current resources can't do their jobs. This leads to failing projects and timelines.

I am afraid DXC have already stated their goal is to have short-term 'hire & fire' folks to meet peaks & troughs of demand, not to keep permies on indefinitely, draining their budgets.

DXC wants to be the McDonald's of IT. You work there for a year making a low wage with minimal benefits, then you move on to another company.
