‘ Find better things to do with your time. Try meditation.‘

He/she should try medication not mediation. Very hung up on EDS, which was nearly a decade and four companies ago. Don’t feed the Trolls!

today a manager stated that this year there would not be any sweets distributed for Diwali (a tradition of all companies in India for the last several thousand years) that has been broken by DXC ..

the manager said that WFR letters would be distributed after the festival of Diwali so as not to spoil the festive mood.

  1. Thank you to the original poster, Manager. The managers that I have worked with have all given really strong hints and as much notice as possible to the affected employees. Before they were WFR'd themselves of course.

  2. Hey 1hke - I'd like to inform you that the "useless" legacy EDS team staffed contracts that I work with are bringing in very high margins to this sh$t show of a company and helping you to get paid. Simmer down with the insults ~ it isn't helpful. I see you on these posts bashing Pontiac and EDS any chance you get like a proper obsessed online troll. Find better things to do with your time. Try meditation.

Welll Kudo's for the original poster. We hope and believe that it is true. It seems to be the honest depiction of the situation.

Coming back to the story ! - There are legacy useless EDS guys who ran this ship to the ground (read Pontiac Mafia - mostly GM itiots). Apparently there were some legacy CSC yahoo's as well that made this situation very difficult. Having said that it is pretty known fact that IT outsourcing market is shrinking and the indian pure play guys are eating the pie in all sides. While DXC is busy and invested in Hosting and other basic stuff, the pure play companies are playing in the big data, analytics, security and application development space.

Hopefully we fire some or all of the legacy EDS yahoos and do some real work in the app space or just encounter the dooms day !

I am sure this PM must be from the HPE side. Looks like this is very common on the CSC side.

I don't know which side of the house our Manager friend is from, but this is how CSC has been run since Mikey turned up.

The people RIF'ed are RIF'ed not because we don't need them, not because they are under achievers, not because the company is not profitable.... no, they are RIF'ed because that is what he wants to do and he won't take no for an answer. There is no logic other than spreadsheet cost management of the business.

It was a shock for CSC'ers in the past, but that's how it rolls.

There is also bugger all you can do to avoid it on a personal level, other than hope you don't get the bullet and then end up doing the work of an entire team on your own.

Or leave of your own choice.

Our new HPE friends need to realise that this is their fate now too.

Oh and lastly, don't imagine that this is "one off transformation pain" because its not... CSC had "transformed" every 12 weeks in an attempt to draw attention from the fact that every time the figures come out, its 10% less revenue.... DXC is no different.

Heard that the WFR list would be communicated to the affected employees after Diwali in India. A big gesture by DXC management by not spoiling the Diwali celebrations by announcing the WFR list before Diwali! Kudos!!

It’s nice to see a manager breaking cover. Not sure why managers feel the need to keep quiet and protect this sh-- shell of a company though. If some had done it earlier it might have let people act and protect themselves.

Once the WFR is announced, it's the employees discretion to leave the same day and get three months package or wait for three months searching for a job. Anyway the ceiling is 3 months to leave and get three month salary. It's WFR but considered a resignation

Being WFR but dxc claiming it to be a resignation does not make sense.

Now that I have opened the Pandora's box, I hope many managers like me who had their grievances stacked up inside them will be candid enough to share their side of the story

Being a people manager with DXC for over 8 years,I have never felt the need to share org specific info in a public forum

But the things happening within DXC is overwhelming and the need tow rite this honest post. Hope this helps the people who read .

The content of this thread is true. The org mandate is to layoff atleast 15% of the workforce that does not meet the "key skills" towards which DXC is moving. Managers like me have already started giving heads up to the affected resources. The impact would be severe from the HPE side of the Org. Last but not the least , this layoff would be considered like a normal resignation and no severance package would be provided.

Being a people manager in this organization, the stress I have undergone over the past 4 months is unbearable. I wanted to share to the unsuspecting innocent employees of DXC that their heads are on the block irrespective of the rating or criticality to the project.i am unable to share this information in the official forum with my team but anyone who reads this post can understand the gravity of the situation. What I have shared above are absolute facts and it's up to the individual to act or sink.
