Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Centene Layoffs 2018

I know that people are concerned - don’t be - but I heard from someone pretty high up in our corporate office that they planned layoffs but that plan was abandoned, so we are safe here in St. Louis.

Centene - Arizona is now calling it "reorganizing" and positions are being eliminated, though HR will tell you the position your in, isn't being eliminated, you just have to now be certified - an example is a coordinator position is now a board certified technician position - if you don't pass the certification - its a "mutual separation" and not a lay-off. Which they are doing so they can screw you on a severance. I know someone who was an employee for 12 years and they offered him 4 weeks severance if he did not pass the certification. FOUR weeks for 12 years of service. Centene does not care about the staff level employee, that is blatantly obvious. All awhile Michael Neidorff has been the highest-paid St Louis executive for the past 3 years. Neidorff earned 379 times as much as we, the median Centene employee (according to the proxy statement). While approx 33,312 of us "staff workers" earned a median $66,600, including our medical premiums. And if MICHAEL LEAVES CENTENE, he gets to collect $17.5 million in SEVERANCE and bonuses, PLUS cash in $63 million worth of unvested stock. But we can't even get one week for each year of service.......

Over 100 IT employees were given notice this week company wide -- about 7% of IT overall. Other groups were hit harder than others. I know one group where almost 20% of employees were let go.

Significant # of layoffs in Rancho Cordova as well. 50+

When is this going to hit the news wires? Especially since Centene was basking in their "bringing hundreds of jobs to Sacramento" story back in November

Layoffs occurred today in Woodland Hills, CA. At least five people that I know of have been let go.

I disagree. Layoffs are imminent here at Centene.
