Thread regarding Seagate Technology Inc. layoffs

We are loosing some of our brightest people

We are loosing some of the brightest people to other companies at a time when they are most needed. Seagate CEO needs to tell VP's to look more carefully at who gets RSU's in order to try to keep the brightest people. I think VP makes decision them self without consult with low level managers and directors.

Couldn't agree more with you, @PFUQLLo-1tyu. You can't lay off people just based on their title and pay. You need to know their full contribution to the company. Two people with same pay and title can have drastically different work results. Keeping our best people has to become a priority.

Seagate is done. What you are witnessing is death rattle. Get out now, do not convince yourself they care about you, your role or the level of critical functions you provide. Before your self worth is completely destroyed by the destructive sucubus that is Seagate, get running. For the love of god everything they have done and are doing is opposite of every logical thought or data driven insight. The protorial position of craniums at every level above a line manger is perpendicular and often covered (afore mentioned proctoril area). Seriously though, exectives heads only crown from the sphincter only to steal more oxygen. Do yourself and your family a favor.

WD kicked Seagate in the keister big time.....made $6B more in 2017 vs 2016 while Seagate lost about $1B. Exec's should be ousted!

Executives are not concerned with brain drain. They have the attitude that everyone is replaceable. Our best performers will leave in time.

The best option for Seagate is to lose some of their 'bright' executives who have managed, through their ignorance and arrogance, to put the company into its current position. WD's announcement of MAMR caught the Seagate team flat-footed and that should never have been the case.

Why do you think SL chose to step down a few months back? He wanted to exit before the stuff hit the fan.

Look what happened to the Storage businesses we brought....we laid off the Xyratex teams then had to basically give away a business we had no idea how to run...

Cannot believe no heads at the top have not rolled for this yet....we basically paid $350m then gave it away...

people who have no idea like our so called leaders ...should listen to those of us that do...
