Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Those who leave are happier

We have lost three people in the last six months, and not even to layoffs. They found greener pasture and moved on on their own. One of them is a good friend of mine, he is a different person since he changed jobs. He is less stressed out and seems ten times happier when we talk. Certainly helped me finally gather courage to start looking myself. It is sad how big of an impact leaving DXC had on him, but it is also a perfect indicator of the lousy situation we are in right now.

I gave up working from home under the constant fear of DXC management stupidity for a new job driving 30 miles each way for the same pay, and I couldn’t be happier. Definitely get out of DXC as soon as possible, it’s a huge weight that nobody needs to bear.

Yea, as a person who successfully found a job outside, I can say life is more fulfilling. Keep trying, don't kill yourself and your family. It's just a job.

I haven't been asked to "do the needful" since I left DXC in July.

In the UK, The current rate of account and project attrition is hiting the bottom line.

Its got so bad, that VR has been stopped - but it's already too late.

For obvious reasons, the competition have more in-depth customer knowledge and have people the customers like to deal with.

What does this mean? Losts of job offers, higher pay, better prospects as the competition realised how stupid DXC have been in throwing away the family jewels of loyal, productive, revenue generating and highly exerienced employees.

After all, if these ex DXC employees really were overpaid, why is the competition offering more money to employ them? - funny dat :)

You will definitely feel happier. It wasn't something I had expected to feel when I left. But Working in that place I had forgotten what being happy felt like. The nearest I can describe it is like having a weight lifted off you and then feeling a sudden rush of new energy and motivation.

I know people will think 'oh well you're bound to say that aren't you, to justify why you were riffed' or something along those lines. But just being happier in yourself suddenly changes the effect on your family too. It feels close to feeling like you do when you buy a new car or move to a new house ... The happy feelings I mean, not the stressful side of a large purchase.

I still hear from people who like to keep me updated on how depressing it is in DXC and I think then why carry on and put yourself throug more pain and torture. I think people say 'they are looking' but there is a difference from just typing into a search engine and really pushing for real change.

First set a goal. Be clear what role you want to do. Besides all the techie skills Iam sure many have lots of great transferable skills too that can be tailored on the CV to your ideal role.

I notice DXC riffing many roles, at the moment, that is really in demand elsewhere, particularly in the SME space.

Life if good out there.

Now time to exit the thread before the nazi Germany nonesense starts up again ;-)
