How handling HP / HPE split - ES / DXC Merge on Resume

How about a practical question: How are you handling the HP / HPE split and then ES / DXC merge (or the equivalent changes at CSC) on your resume? Do you just show DXC with you HP / HPE start date? Or Show each of the three companies as separate work experience?

Right now, I just show the one company, but the first line of the job description is "In Apr 2017, DXC Technology was spun off from Hewlett Packard Enterprise. I was with HPE from Jun 2011 until Apr 2017"

Just curious how others are handling this.

Cheers!

Try DXC (formerly EDS), DXC (formerly HP), and DXC (formerly HPE). At least that minimises admitting working for D-C for all those years.

I find in interesting the number of high ranking managers still at DXC that did not update their LinkedIn to include DXC.

I would not list DXC on my resume under any circumstance. It would be just like advertising you have genital warts.

Mergers and spinoffs are fairly common and there is nothing embarrassing about dxc being in the list, ie cpq/hp/hpe/dxc. It’s the way the cookie crumbled and while it is appearing more and more that the end is nigh, it’s not a strike against someone listing it on a resume.

I left DXC off my resume. And with The Work Number employment data report it shows HP/HPE/DXC as HP only. My EDS periods is shown as EDS.

save yourself the embarrassment and just leave DXC off of the resume

I put "Hewlett-Packard / Hewlett Packard Enterprise / DXC Technology" and no one asked any questions. Any recruiter worth their salt reviewing tech CVs will know what happened.

I’ve been with EDS/HP/HPE/DXC, and I just list on my resume that I’ve been with DXC for 10 years. No one I’ve interviewed with has asked me for clarification.

Rather than use DXC ("formerly CSC, HP ES") which looks messy to recruiters...

Just end your old role to April 2017 and start a new company April 2017 to date with a role (same role if you like but diff company name).

This avoids tainting your history with DXC. But also means you are not quoting DXC prior to April 2017. But make sure you have an achievement to add between April 2017 and now.
