Thread regarding Molina Healthcare Inc. layoffs

There are no safe jobs with the incoming sale of Molina

This is what I've been saying for the last year. Sale is coming. There's no "Safe" job at Molina. Do what you need to do for you but by all means so not bury your head in the sand. If nothing else, look at it this way....in all the years of Molina's existence, have you ever heard so much speculation that the Molina membership would be sold? Speculation by industry pundits and financial pundits? It IS happening. You can stick around and see if you get severance, but do not be surprised by lay off after lay offs and by the logic in the lay offs not making sense. The Original Poster here is so right as rain. Any changes in the organization (reorg/layoffs) are to make the company better suited to be bought. Just take care of you! Take care of the members while you are there....it will get harder and harder to do with less staff. It will be harder to stay employed and get that severance was keeping the high standard of performance is tough. Don't let yourself get let go without that severance. Just play your cards carefully but by all means....do not ignore the obvious. When some asks, "now what?" My answer is....look for a job. Start now.

I hope @PAHolct-1qel does not mind me bumping this up to a thread for a really good point that more people should consider.

At this point, I wish I would've been offered a severance package.

@PCFnR9u Don't mind at all. I wish folks could see this more clearly. I think @PCFnR9u-orq is right about most of their post...except that it isn't completely about being tossed out on the streets without compensation...it's also about what life at Molina will be like as time goes on. That said, I really appreciate you sharing your experience here. I think the experience of having been through other sales is extremely helpful. Thank you for taking the time to share yours.

Yeah protect your severance. But you have to waive all your normal rights as an unemployed person. Molina has become the most cold-hearted company I have ever worked for. I would say run away as fast as you can. The idiots that they left in charge, (Joe White are you kidding me), and the lowllifeCM directors are as stupid as they come. They walk out of the room if anyone complains about how heartless the layoffs were handled. The poor dears feel like they are being picked on. When they get the ax and that seems soon, then and only then will they understand what we have all gone through. BM, stop your fake tears. No one wants to see them.

If you are still employed with Molina you should try to relax and just do your work. I agree that a sale is probably coming. But I have been in this situation multiple times and if a sale is announced, the acquiring company does not want the employees of the company acquired to leave until they figure out the lay of the land. So they normally offer various incentives for you to stay until they decide what to do with your position. This usually happens very quickly after the sale is announced so there is not a mass exodus of employees.

Just be grateful that you have survived thus far and don’t worry about what you can control. I have been through 3 healthcare sales and office closures. No one was tossed out on the streets without compensation.
