Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Enough is enough

I think each level is feeling the impact of the incompetence of our leaders. Everyone is tired of doing more with less and the stupid head games. It's your job to make sure you are staffed as lob as you don't go over your budget. And who sets the budget??? Not the person who is having to staff the store. All we hear is "We want you, you need to, do this, what is your best practice....blah...blah...blah." Enough is enough. Stop the stupidity. Keep paying high wages at corporate level while the field suffers. Again it's not the we don't want to execute...there is not enough of us to execute.

Agree 100%, @P3Uwl6Q-5wdb. There is simply too much to do with too few people to do it. Unfortunately, I don't see this changing any time soon.

The stores have to be staffed adequately during rush - no doubt about it

JP told me that they need to hire better managers since the HO is coming within budget

And yet corporate just hired a brand spanking new 200k controller. The overhead at the home office continues to grow.

The HO is perfectly aware of staffing needs and promotes gold-standard budgeting practices. What you think is inadequate staffing is really your inability to adapt to the HO model: one person has to do the work of three people at once, which is a very fair expectation, even if the line is building up 3x the normal size. God bless Follett!

Agreed. I have always staffed rush however I felt I needed to and worried about the budget later. No one writes competent budgets here anyway

It's a no win situation. You are going to get in trouble either way. So do what is best for your store and your campus.

Truth be told, I don't look at the labor budget when staffing. I know what is needed when in order to provide customer service to our students. I don't care what HO says, they are out of touch with what the stores need.
