Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Pay raises??

I am a new hire to DXC, but have worked professionally for 22 years. I read a LOT on here about no pay raises have been given for years, is that true? So no COL, merit, bonus, NOTHING?? Nada? I have never heard of such a thing. I mean there may have been years at other companies I only got 1% but I always got something. I'm so totally depressed about this now...

@drhs sadly in the UK - even if you are in a Union, you are not automatically recognised for pay bargaining. DXC (and other IT Services Co's to be fair) deliberately organise with convoluted structures so that bargaining units can't easily be formed. Unless you TUPEd in as a bargaining unit then it's impossible. The only benefit to being in the union is that you have someone to fight for you if and when the company tries to shaft you.

Perhaps its time to join a Union and go on strike

If the Australians can do it!

It's a sure bet that everyone at DXC will receive a 5% payrise on 1 April, which coincidentally happens to be April Fools' Day. #IseeDXC

Since I have not had a pay rise in several years then my output has declined to 6 hours of work per day, looking busy long lunches. My maanger is far away so they see nothing and as for benefits then there are none. F them ... as long as I am paid each month then stick it DXC.

Today is the fifth anniversary of my most recent salary increase.

As long as I'm here, I will strive to achieve goals and a good rating, but at this point I don't think I'm paid enough to say yes to any business travel (not worth the personal disruption that causes, and it's not central to my role) nor herculean efforts I might be asked to embark upon.

So I'm not inclined to go minimalist (because of how bad it feels, but I understand others who might do this), but I'm also not inclined to just take on what's thrown my way without pushing back on anything huge.

I would leave quicklyif you are newly hired, you will never get a pay rise, the company is a dead end for this as morale is very low.

Therefore the company keeps losing business as the customers aren't happy and the company is eventually doomed. The top management take all the the pay.

In short you will be skewed using different excuses.

7 years later and no pay increase.
Benefits have decreased.
401K matching has decreased.
Expected to use personal cell phones for company business.
Extremely disappointing even when performance reviews are good, time to move on.

Absolutely true!!. I have never received a raise. I have been here for 5 years. I have also received, on those 5 years, 3 performance reviews as outstanding (Level 1 - Exceeds Expectations) and 2 (Achieve Expectations). So go try figure that out. If you have the opportunity to work for any other company I would recommend to go with them. This company expects you to k--l yourself for them without any incentive.

Before Mikey became the boss c---ey of DXC I regularly received pay rises at HP / HPES but he WFR'd me and upon accepting a contract I received a 30% pay rise. Moral of the story is not to believe the BS peddled by HR when they say that DXC matches market rates ... the lowest possible rates for the third world though.

Thanks Mikey for the parachute back into the real world, whilst you pocketed the bonus for getting rid of me and my 22+ years of experience with the wider DXC conglomerate.

5 years since last pay rise.

4 years exceeds expectation. 1 exceeds but marked down by HR manager could not find out why.

3 bonuses all less than RPI.

Finally salary Pension stopped.

No service anniversary.

Been with company 7 years. Last raise was 4 years ago, and a measly $1500. Performance reviews have always been in top two tiers.

Have been with DXC (former CSC) for 5 years. I have never received a single raise. In fact, I didn’t get any maternity leave either and was denied short-term disability. I used to have my cell phone bill paid for and now that is gone. I have asked for a better computer for years to accommodate the high capacity projects that I do and I have not seen a single thing. I was approved for a raise a few years back and even was told by my Manager that it was 99% approved. Again, it never went through. I expect nothing as far as raises or any type of compensation for that matter. Remote work, flexibility and unlimited vacation, as well as a great boss (who has not seen a raise either) have kept me there.

In DXC we don't talk about pay raise. Infact what is pay raise????????????????????

We only talk about job scope raise and working hour raise.

The short answer is, no do not expect any raises. I have been at CSC/DXC for nearly four years and I have never received a raise. If you receive a "1" rating (highest score) in your annual review you do get the courtesy of being considered for a review, however very few of these actually receive a raise. To meet the criteria, you must score a 1, be client facing, be on a critical project, and your manager must be able to make a case for keeping you. So far the only scenario is that has been successful is where a key project manager who is well regarded by the client, has an offer from a competitor.

(Former CSC.) Had not had pay increase in 4 years! Like someone mentioned, with COL going up every year and increase in benefits that means that your pay is actually decreasing every year. Corporate greed at its finest.

I came from another company to HP, some 10 years ago. I had always gotten pay raises before , but since I worked for HP I never got ANY pay raise - although my yearly reviews were always very good.

Sorry for that, but the way HP/DXC is giving pay raises is entirely up to your management and most of the time your career, motivation and happiness is the last thing they have on their mind.

Indeed, I never had seen this before neither.

Old news my friend @P6y4ZfL-1qyg

Essentially though, executive pay increases are the direct product of CSC employees not having got one. They got our money.

I'm sure those extra millions are needed for them to keep food on the table. Excessive food is probably why Mikey needs a fitbit.

Bandits.

And here's another reason you won't see a pay raise (caution - greed spoiler ahead):

All of what you read below is true. Sorry.

Probably the absolute final kick in the knackers is that you can't even score a 1 on your appraisal. They can't even tell you that you are outstanding even if you are. They will knock you down just so that you don't get shirty about the lack of pay rise.

Oh and you won't get proper externally recognised training and certification either - because that's just money wasted because it "helps you not the company".

I can't believe you haven't noticed any of this already - haven't your colleagues knocked the icing off of your cupcake yet? Welcome to Hell my friend.

I've been at CSC / DXC for several years now, and not had a raise in about 3 years, and that was 1.5%.

I think i've found escape tunnel though. Just hoping I get offered VR in the next couple of weeks! It'd be nice to take them for a few $ before I leave anyway.

You've been had mate. No chance of a pay rise. You are a cost to be controlled. DXC has no interest in you as an individual, it is just a rebranding of the discredited CSC with the poor sods of HPE ES that Whitman had no clue how to use thrown in.

Think Sellafield, the rebrand of dodgy British Nuclear site, Windscale. only worse for your health.

Technically take home pay actually decreases each year in the US as "Benefit" costs go up on the Employee side...

Forced ranking among many other things, all point at worse increases (or lack thereof) then what was in place with HPE. Sure you get to put some pretty looking goals in Workday, but when you go over those goals, achieved or not, when it is time for your review.... you will get this, "You did good this last year, but there really isn't a budget for merit increases or bonuses this year as we are a new company and we need to hit our savings targets" bla bla bla...

b---s---....

While Mikey and the L1 and L2 gang laugh all the way to the bank.

Get out while you can. Everyone else is.

This is a sinking ship. I have never seen morale so low in all of my years in the workforce.

Bonuses? No. Not unless you're a level 2. The bonus is based on global and regional financial targets which are have not been met since for many years.

Merit? No. All employee reward schemes and the last remaining book token scheme in India, were outlawed in recent years in favour of a baseball bat with sharp nails in it. Management discretioney spend for performance or staff retention is no longer approved.

Pay rises were heavily restricted in US and Europe's high-cost countries to 1-2%. It go as high as 8% for low cost countries, but was tightly controlled to either a staff member who was rated a "1" in the 5% of the bell curve or were considered client critical, but as of 2017 that no longer applies and the annual company pay rise has now been scrapped on the pretence that it will now be treated on a case-by-case basis, as and when, in the fullness of time, at the appropriate juncture, when the financial conditions are right. i.e. never.

On the bright side, they do offer a free samaritans type helpline for impartial advice and counselling.

Unfortunately, you've joined a company that has to cut half its workforce by 2020, to save $1billion cost and If they need 5 people to approve $5 expenses; avoid stocking vending machines, cut mobiles, cut client travel, cut benefits, vacation accruals and the oxygen you breath, then its unlikely you will see a pay rise this side of 2020. Sorry, that's just the way it is.

There's been enough warning signs on the jobsite reviews, glassdooor and on here and if you'd reviewed the company before applying, sorry to say you might have spotted them before you accepted the role.
