Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Professionalism

I read lots on here about people discussing Oracle Confidential information. This information is company proprietary so we shouldn't be discussing it in case Oracle Corporate finds out and you get in trouble.

Things like RIFs in groups shouldn't be discussed either as that's against our terms of employment. When somebody gets a severance package then that is a NDA so shouldn't commented on. I work in sustaining.

I got laid off on 9/1 with hundreds others. I'm just curious what oracle up to these days with the layoffs / as in which groups .

In the US, the National Labor Relations Act guarantees employees have the right to discuss pay and working conditions and "to act together for other mutual aid or protection." It is a federal crime to threaten employees who are holding such discussions as we have been doing on this board. If anyone revealed proprietary information that wasn't covered by such laws, then you might have a case - but what's HR going to do? Fire us twice?

This is singlehandedly the worst handled layoff all of us have ever seen. Its 4pm PST and there still is 0 notification on when people are supposed to show up their final day, 0 information about who's doing it, 0 information on how it will be handled communicated to the employees.

I also work in sustaining too and I may be gone tomorrow. I can't think of anyone among the people I work with who would make such a tone deaf post and I know pretty much everyone in our org. No idea who the OP is but it really wasn't necessary to post that.

It is NOT an NDA. Not even legally close. WTF are you talking about?

It is a contract (severance) contract that can be shown and discussed with anyone. Family, lawyers, or whatever.

The only binding legal items are that you must return your items, badge, etc.. and you are waiving your right to file a claim against Oracle.

Stop spreading lies. You can show the documents to anyone (family, lawyer, etc..) that you feel comfortable sharing your personal details with.
