DHLisbetter, I guess i know who is your ex manager. Hahahaha.

Indeed he is a smart genius. His team currently do have few hundred people. He seem to be able to grow whatever in his hand.

I always wish to be transfer to his team, but very difficult to move, as my stupid manager in RUN always try to stop me. He stop whoever that want to move on.

I left the organization since HP time, II am damn lucky. In the HP time, I am in the project team for 1 year, under my super good manager B T* and my director A* T, the team keep growing under my ex manager supervision.

But I heard after integrate with EDS, the team split into technology tower, and my ex manager been forced to manage a team that no people want to manage, only 10 people, and everything start going in bad way, cost getting higher, job lesser than previous. Escalation more than ever.

Since most of the layoff information was somehow leaked, the layoffs are on hold for now - 2 weeks. The next round of layoffs is in mid-September

Good move. Whoever came up with Build & Run had clearly never had to work alongside a customer that was going ballistic about issues not getting fixed when you had a perfectly skilled Build Engineer sitting next to you whose Capability Lead refused to allow them to get involved.

It was a stupid system anyway. Split the engineering function in half, reduced flexibility, took away the ability to manage resources locally and sensibly.
