Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Will there be anymore layoffs this year?

I hope they won't be mean and do layoffs around the holidays. That would be sooooo awful.

The layoffs will continue until morale improves.

It is 2 weeks per completed year of service

Holidays are not going to protect you from business decisions. Maybe just not on the holiday.

If under 2 years with the company I believe you get 1 month base for severance.

They've done three layoffs. There are four quarters to a year. It appears they've spread the layoffs over the year which means there will likely be a quarter 4 layoff. Be smart. Plan for the future.

And yes. Severance is based on years of service. 2 weeks per year. There was never a standard 2 months. Previous PHCs (some not sure of all) laid off were told within a week or two of lay off they could take the time to look for work, keep their computers and did not have to long in or manage rosters. At the end of the 60 days they turned in their computers and the severance began. I'm hoping this is the case for all laid off parties this time as well. Good luck!

So the servance is less than it was, no flat out two months, but based on years of service?

Sounds like "100" might be right about another round either end of this yr or in Jan.

From today's discussion:

October 30 is last day. No promises of no more layoffs. Severance is 2 weeks for each year of service.

Our coach said the question was asked and all that can be said is, "no promises."
