Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Is tomorrow the day?

Hey, truth 100, and anyone else with information - will it be tomorrow?

They seem to prefer Thursdays, presumably because so many take pto on Fridays and would miss it?

Or are we expected to go another week with this over our shoulders...

Where is next week coming from? Anyone know this for sure?

I hadn't realized the IVR monitored members were to be responded to by nurses, not PHC's. It makes sense but that doesn't bode well for the future of PHC's. Good to know.

And the ones that do remain? You will be part of a very small program, much more in the spotlight than ever. Prepare for more severe micromanagement. I'm sure for many that this is a preferred outcome to no job at all, just be prepared for zero autonomy. Changes are coming.

Not sure if this helpful. There are 487 PHCs with caseloads. 683-241 members per case load. Seems to depend on what states you have. There are 285,700 members. The most recent from leadership is that 110,000 members graduating. At best they can retain 251 PHCs. Members might be going to other places. Leadership is probably comparing outcomes, which is why there is crazy emphasis on call quality and adding value. LITH is expanding their telephonic program. Remote monitoring are recruiting for an IVR nurse managed program. I feel strongly that leadership is cruel. We have a healthy economy and a profitable company. Surely there is a benefit to retraining skilled workers. They should publish how many laid off workers they are able to rehire. I have a feeling it is a sad sad number. Boo Humana. Hiss. Wellness my a$$

When did they confirm this particular layoff was one of many? I did not hear that in the meeting I was in nor has any one else in official status come out and said that. I was told by my coach that the current layoff is in anticipation of the 100000 members that are leaving the program. They will leave enough PHCs to service the members that remain and that enrollments will begin again in January. Which will only be a couple of months after we all leave. They don't need us to around to unenroll. They can simply send out a letter.

Right. Unfortunately, it is glaringly obvious.

I'm a PHC and I knew there would be another layoff in January 18 because of how things are moving into another direction. they confirmed this layoff that's coming up is one of many. So once the move of those 100k + members over the next 60-90 days that tells you there will be more layoffs.

Curious why you say another lay off in 2018. Have you been told the big plan or just guessing at this point like the rest of us?

Yeah I'll retract to 50% with another layoff in early 2018

100 any idea of the magnitude of the layoffs. Last week you said like 95% of PHCs but that sounds excessive. 5% can't handle the remaining members

"Truth" is back! Uggh, so they just have the list and we are all in limbo. So the holdup is the massive amount of paperwork HR to set must complete prior?

Don't know if it will be tomorrow although I would like It to be. The talk is mid august. However, it seems it would be sooner since coms have the list. 💯I would be looking for the all associate meeting and it will stray together

The coms have the list of manager and workers being let go. They have had them all week. I have posted in other threads about prior things people doubted me I've always been right and even had an apology! 💯

To the manager posting, I can say I appreciate all that the managers/coaches do. Few realize the pressure you are put under by your bosses. It is a trickle down effect. Are some managers better than others, of course. You will find that in any role. When we were first hired, most of us didn't know what we were doing and learned as we went along. I am sure y'all are just as nervous about these cuts as we are because the more of us cut means more of you. We are all under a great deal of pressure right now. Hopefully those who are so miserable in their jobs and with their coaches will be the ones cut and those of who actually like their jobs can keep them. If only! I actually like my job!

To the managers im a PHC and I truly believe you all are not aware until hours before. I understand you all are just as stressed as we are. I just have one question? Do you all complete surveys on your team and send the results on for upper leadership to make a decisions about who they select for layoffs. I understand and respect you if you don't feel comfortable answering the question. Thanks in advance for your honest and insight.

Manager here. Thanks so much for throwing us all in the same garbage pile. None of you have any idea what we have to deal with day in and day out. And for those slamming new Managers, give it a rest. You were new once too. When we ask you to do something we're just doing our job. Why are you turning it into a personal attack? I understand you're all stressed about possibly losing your job, so are we. We don't know way ahead of time who's getting layed off, we find out maybe a few hours before you do.

It won't happen tomorrow as coaches have not yet been notified. They will be told the day before and any coaches or coms losing their positions will be notified first. Hoping a coach will post and give us the heads up the night before.

60 calendar days from tomorrow would be the first workday in October (Monday), sobyeah, if it follows that trend then tomorrow would be the day, if term day were effective in 60 days.

"Notifications will happen towards the end of the month. Still no word on specific numbers or specific people. Good luck and God bless"

Is this confirmed or opinion? Sorry...

Someone on another thread made a valid point...both of the last layoffs happened to where the people laid off would be done with their 60 days right before the end of the quarter. End of this quarter would come at the end of September. Both of the last layoffs happened on a Thursday for whatever reason. If this layoff follows that path...they would be coming very soon. Just my thoughts.

Some times managers are pulled in to meeting same day just hour before us, thats probably how they will do it cause i think this layoff is the big axe to program

Plus they will give management notice before us. We won't all be in the same meeting.

Hmmm .... have to admit I'm not feeling it for tomorrow. I think in the past they've let managers know the afternoon before so they are prepared for us. I'm not hearing anything except everybody playing close attention

I hope the sooner - I feel that would be better. This is an absolute circus and has been for sometime. Occasionnaly they will reign us all on the phone for a three ring act. A few months ago it was some act of how they are going to become more employee focused and how they started listening to employee issues- what a crock that turned out to be. I'm ready for them to haul out the fat lady and let her sing.

I've had 4 in less than 2 years. And the one I have now has zero knowledge about our job process. Not sure what qualifies them to be coaches. The good ones are quitting or getting laid off and some horrible ones are still here. It makes no sense. Humana is a total mess.

Management doesn't have the same licensing requirements. If they are good managers that is what will count, not if they are RNs or MSWs.

Post ID: @xip+OznBmjE

They arent telling coaches and i doubt coms because they also willbe laid off. Another poster said theres less than 600 phcs left, each manager has 15-18 phcs, so for every 15-18 phcs thats is one less manager, and ripple effect goes go.... I have noticed alor of the managers r not social workers (msw) or rns... So they will probably eliminate this mamagers first
