Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

How many jobs will losing Boeing cost us?

So Boeing is as good as gone as a customer, which is most likely going to bring on another round of layoffs. I just wonder if this would be happening if Honeywell didn't lay off all the excellent and experienced engineers to save a few bucks on cheaper employees, just to see them scooped up by Boeing for their new unit.

Sorry to hear that, Torrance has as much NPI activity as I've ever seen. Many new ECS systems in the works.

FCS Correct! Doesn't matter the position if the process is robust any fool can do it. Till they can't.

Hey, engineers are interchangeable and as long as you have work instructions defined you don't need experience ... right? At least that's what stupid management thinks.

Somehow about 6 lines of my post were left out?

I said that once Boeing starts selling their avionics to other ATR and BGA oems, it's game over for HON avionics.

A very, very good point. On one hand I'd like to think HON and dairy a-- cares but I think the reality is much different. It's my opinion that HON is doing this on purpose to slowly kill/sell off AERO in favor of the new power of connected nonsense. AERO was too big to sell off when it was the powerhouse of the industry, so how do you get rid of something this big? Well, first you get rid of your workforce and replace them with low cost, low talent workers. RIF and drive as many as you can out of the company to lower costs. As components begin to fail, you sell them off. Things like ASRS, shipping and receiving, the clean line at R then it's game over for HON avionics, period.
