Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

If I quit, can I still take approved PTO

Does anybody know if I quit, can I still take approved PTO? Or am I required to work all two weeks straight?

Yes, you should be able to but ultimately the final decision comes from your Coach/COM.

I've known several people that used PTO during their two week notice, in fact they were encouraged to do so. It might depend on the manager. I would check policy but not sure what the big deal would be.

Did you check policy source from the HI page to see what it says? Some companies have a no PTO policy during your last 2 weeks. Not sure about Humana. You can only cash out 23 days of PTO when you leave.

But even if it was approved already, it would not be a good idea?

It is better to leave in good standings and be on the rehire list even if you never want to go back.

I've been told that you are "strongly encouraged" to take PTO to save Humana $
